Chapter 3

Jayden

Jayden opened up his locker and checked for his next lesson.

"Two periods of Biology." He mumbled as he retrieved his Biology text book. As he slammed his locker door shut, he saw a group of jocks walking towards him. All of them looked like they had spent their whole life in the gym. All of them have broad muscular chests and bulging arm muscles. One of them stood out from the rest, he was taller and his looks were stricking. His dirty blonde hair falls over his eyes and has a piercing on his right ear. His midnight blue eyes shone brightly. Clearly, he was the leader of the pack.

The whole lot of them approached and the leader placed a hand on his locker.

"I see that you've been trying to hook up with my girl?" his voice was silky but it did not hide the threat.

"I've no idea what you're talking about." Jayden replied. It wasn't exactly a lie though he kind of had a rough idea on who all these were pointing at.

"Don't act dumb, I'm talking about Taylor Simons. You two were sitting together in the cafeteria having a really good time. She's mine, leave her alone."

"Its not me who's talking to her, its the other way round."

"So you're saying my girl's hooking up on you? You little bastard." he snarled and his fist connected with Jayden's lower jaw.

Jayden stumbled backwards with the impact but regain his footing quickly. The metallic taste of blood told him that the corner of his mouth was bleeding. He massaged his jaw and straightened his back.

"That was so not what I meant."

He swung another fist towards Jayden but this time, he was ready. Luckily he picked up Muay-Thai when he was in California. Who would have thought it would be useful now? Jayden caught his fist in his palm and pushed his fist back with quite an effort but he did not let it show.

This caught the jock by suprise and he stumbled back knocking into his friends behind. The fact that he was humiliated in front of his friends seemed to fuel him even more because he did not hesitate to throw the next punch. Jayden ducked the oncoming fist, grabbed his wrist and pinned his arm against his back. The jock cried out in pain. Jayden procceded with pinning him against the locker with his elbow. The jock gasped, face turning red.

"I will repeat this one last time. There is nothing going on between me and Taylor. We are just friends." Friends? He did not know whether he considered her as a friend. Where did that come from?

"Get it?"

The jock nodded his head and he released him. He dropped onto the floor taking big gulps of air before regaining his posture. He stood in front of Jayden and glared at him.

"Son of a bitch!" He spat and turned to leave, sprouting a trail of colourful vocabulary behind.

Jayden shook his head and turned the opposite direction, heading for the science labs with the words "Taylor" and "friend" echoing in his head.
