Chapter 5
Taylor
"I think we should keep our distance..." That sentence kept repeating in her mind. She felt her heart break a little each time it repeats. How can he be so.. Cruel? But then she pictured the bruise at the corner of his mouth. He had the right to be angry. I'm the one who got him beaten up.
"Why does Derrick have to interfere with everything! Can't he just leave me alone?" She mumbled to herself, frustration building up in her. She have got to talk to her ex. Sooner rather than later. She U-turned and headed for the gym.
She pushed open the glass door to the gym, cool air from the aircon greeted her, making her shiver slightly. It didn't take long to spot him. She stromed towards him, attracting many curious stares along the way but she ignored them, focusing on one thing only. Confronting Derrick.
"What's wrong with you? You don't go around beating people up as and when you like!"
Derrick ignored her and continued lifting his dumb bells.
"Hello! I'm talking to you!" She pressed his dumb bells down forcing him to stop.
"Why did you hurt Jayden?"
Derrick looked up at her, his midnight blue eyes just as captivating as they always were. That was why she fell for him in the first place. But that is all history now, its over.
"Why does that concern you?" He shifted in his seat to face her.
"Cause he's my friend."
"Friend? I think its more than that."
"So? It doesn't concern you. You hit him, you're wrong."
"You want to know why?" He stood up and leaned towards her, their faces inches apart. Everyone was looking by now. "Meet me tomorrow night, at seven, at Sunset Cove. I'll tell you why and I'll leave that guy alone, if you come."
With that, he packed up his towel and headed for the shower room. Taylor let out her breath, she didn't even realise she was holding her breath. Sunset Cove? Why there?
