Chapter 4
Jayden
So much for laying low. Jayden had a girl who insists of talking to him and got into a fight with, most probably the most popular guy in the school. And its only his first day! Jayden did a mental eye roll at how sucky his life has become. Jayden absent mindedly rubbed his aching jaw while listening to Biology class. He had made sure to sit at a seat furtherest away from Taylor.
The rest of the day passed by in a blur and before he know it, school day was over. As he was walking out of school, Taylor came jogging towards him.
"Hey," Taylor panted "Man, you walk fast."
"Maybe if you eat lesser, you would walk faster without gasping for breath." He smirked but quickly swipe his hand over his mouth to cover it. What the hell did he just say?
"Ha. Ha. Funny." She looked up and her gaze dropped to his jaw.
"Oh my gosh, what happened?"
"Your boyfriend bashed me up."
"Boyfriend?"
"Yeah, that jock with over-sized muscles, he told me to stay away from you so I think we shouldn't be wakling together. I don't want to be accused of hooking up with someone else;s girl again." Those words came out harsher than he expected. But then again, it is the truth.
"Jock? You mean Derrick? Me and him are history. He did this to you? Urgh, he's such an asshat."
"Yeah, he did this. Luckily I wasn't as whimpy as I look and got away with just a bruise on my face. He on the other hand, got a bruised ego, so think you better go check on him. Oh, and let's keep our distances, I dun need another bruise on my face."
His words stopped Taylor on her tracks, not that he acted like he cared. But he can't help but ton think that he had hurt her feelings deeply. Why had he reacted this way? Is it because.. He quickly pushed that thought to the back of his mind before he can brood over it. He wasn't ready to admit that he was jealous. Not yet. This is better for the both of them. He headed out of school and started his long journey home.
