@username: Aslan!!
@username2: That quote is so true
@username3: Truly man's best friend 🐾
@chrisevans: Dodger's favorite buddy! 🐕🐾🐕
@username4: You let your dog in your bed? 🤨
@username5: What kind of dog is that?
@username6: He's a service dog, right?
@charlieangel: @username5 Aslan is a Golden Retriever.
@username7: @username5 Golden Retrievers are a commonly used breed for service and therapy dogs because of their gentle nature
@charlieangel: @username6 Yeah 🐕
@username8: @username6 He's a dog with a very special job
@username9: What's having a therapy dog like?
@username10: 😍🐕😍🐕😍
@charlieangel: @username9 I have a service dog, not a therapy dog. There's actually a slight difference in the jobs of dogs in each role, but don't worry about the confusion because most people I've encountered didn't know there was a difference either. Therapy dogs are trained to help ease others psychologically and emotionally, whereas service dogs are trained to help their owner in whatever capacity needed, usually for disabilities such as hearing or vision impairments. Service dogs for PTSD also get mistaken for emotional support dogs too, but that's a whole other job.
@username11: I love how chill Aslan is 😍
@username12: Following your account is probably the best thing I've ever done. I've learnt so much about the jobs dogs like Aslan do for the thousands of people out there that have these amazingly talented dogs in their lives
@username13: Isn't he meant to be helping you?
@charlieangel: @username13 Service dogs aren't always on duty - the same goes for therapy dogs and emotional support dogs too. But, Aslan does help me if I have nightmares even though he's not technically on duty then. They have very important jobs that are sometimes mentally stressful so we need to look after their wellbeing too and give them time off from "work mode". It's why they're trained using the harnesses you've probably seen on other service dogs in public. While that harness is on, they're working, but when it's taken off then they're free to be a companion dog like a normal pet. Having a service dog is a two for one deal - you get a faithful friend and a trained helper to get you through your daily life
@username14: Aslan is so cute! I'm glad that you're helping to raise awareness of how amazing service dogs are. I definitely wouldn't feel as confident in public without my canine aid, Hope. 🐾
