What I wish you could say is that you're not going.
That it was all just a false alarm and you're staying here with us.

It's hard enough for me to act as if I don't know about any of this when I see him, without knowing that you still have no plans to tell him

I've been thinking about it and was wondering - is there a valid reason that the military wouldn't send someone, a woman, back overseas?

Charlie Bear 🧸:
Yes, but seeing as it's not applicable to me then I have no reason not to go

Scotty Dog 🐕:
What is the valid argument though?

And maybe a bit of wanting to find any loopholes to keep you here

Well then, you're severely out of luck

Charlie Bear 🧸:
The only thing that springs to my mind is pregnancy, and even then it's not a full leave of absence or discharge from duty. It would just be a temporary deference of deployment until the baby is delivered then they'd give a two month time limit for the mother to spend with the child before she gets shipped out.

Yeah... they're still pretty strict about that kind of thing with women in the military. There's still a lot more rules catering to guys than women, but hopefully one day that'll improve

Scotty Dog 🐕:
This sounds rude but I hope you aren't there to see that day
I'm going to cross my fingers that your service is completely over and done with and left in the dust by then, so we'll only know about it because it's on the news or something
