I pull into Bianca's driveway and park the car. It's huge! "Charlotte!" She exclaims, running outside. I don't even get a word in before she's dragging me inside her enormous house. "Bianca, who's here?" A female voice barks. Bianca sighs. "Just my friend, Mother!" She calls back, pulling me upstairs to her room.

"I never agreed we were friends." I tell her with a smile. She grins. "We exchanged numbers, and you haven't run away from me yet. We're friends." She states. I offer a smile and sit on her bed. Not friends exactly. More like, someone to keep me entertaining until I move again. Besides, if she knew my past I'm sure she'd run away from me.

I pull a few dresses from my backpack and lay them out, examining every one. I choose the one that makes me feel the least amount of vulnerability. It's a simple navy blue dress that reaches my knees with see-through sleeves and sparkles. "You're wearing that?" Bianca asks warily, looking down at her black cropped top and white skinny jeans.

I nod. "Yeah. Unlike the rest of the teenage population, I don't wear extremely tight and short dresses that could fit 8th graders." I reply, slipping on my sparkly silver heels. She shrugs and plugs in her straightener. I take out my makeup and my travel mirror thing and apply light, natural makeup.

I finish and put everything away, right as Bianca turns to me. "The boys will be picking us up in twenty." She informs me. I frown. "We're driving with them?" I ask. She nods. "Yeah. I usually travel with them to parties. Is something wrong?" She asks, concerned. Yes. I won't have a way to escape if I can't handle the amount of people being crowded in one room with alcohol.

"No. No problem." I lie. She smiles and nods. "Do you want to do anything with your hair?" She asks me. I run my fingers through my straight auburn hair and shake my head. "No. I'm good." I say. She shrugs and unplugs her straightener.

A loud beep catches our attention and we hurry downstairs. An older woman, probably in her thirties or forties, stops us. "Is that Ashton?" She asks. I don't miss the way she spits his name out like year old unrefrigerated pie. Bianca sighs. "Yes mother. That's my brother." She says coolly. The woman scoffs loudly.

"That boy is not your brother. He merely has the same sperm donor as you." She sneers before stalking off. I frown. She's a bitch. Bianca glares slightly in her mother's direction before yanking me outside to the boy's car.

"Miss Caldwell hold you up?" Ashton asks when we get inside. Bianca nods. "Yep. The usual. Can you just drive, Ash?" He nods and takes off. The drive is short, and we pull up to a giant mansion blasting with loud music and colorful lights. I cringe. Well, teenage parties for you. I shake away the memories from the last party I went to and follow the crew to the front door.

"Ashton!" A girl squeals, jumping into his arms and planting a sloppy kiss on his lips. Claudia is definitely drunk. Ashton frowns and steps back. "Um hey Claudia." He greets. I snicker. He turns to me and playfully glares. "Come on Ashy!" She exclaims, taking his hand and dragging him through the crowd.

I watch them leave until I literally can't see them anymore. "He'll be back in an hour. In the meantime, drinks?" Anthony offers. Bianca and I follow him to the kitchen where he pours some juice and vodka for Bianca, and water for us. "Thanks." He grins and nods. Bianca's gaze instantly drops to his lips but he doesn't seem to notice. I, on the other hand, raise an eyebrow in questioning.

"I need the bathroom. Can you show me where it is Bianca?" I ask. She nods and pulls me along, through the large house and upstairs. I drag her confused body inside with me and lock the door. "How long have you liked Anthony?" I ask. She flushes red and avoids my eyes. "No idea what you're on about. Did he pour alcohol into that cup or water?" She says, nervously chuckling.

I cross my arms and stare her down. Eventually, she groans and runs her hands down her face. "That obvious?" I shrug. "I wouldn't stare at his lips whenever he smiles if you want to be subtle." I reply. She blushes. "Freshman year." She says with a small sigh. I smile. Well, I need to leave something when I move so...looks like I'm playing matchmaker.

"Let's go party!" I say suddenly. Her eyes widen as I yank her from the bathroom and downstairs to the dancing crowd of idiots. Bianca laughs and joins the crowd in dancing. I smile and slip out of the mob, walking around until I find the boys in the backyard. Damn. Big pool.

"Hey Charlie." Ashton greets me. I take the cigarette from his hand and drop it on the ground, stepping on it. He frowns. "What was that for?" I shrug innocently. "Smoking is bad for you Ash." I say sweetly. He raises an eyebrow but doesn't push me farther for an answer. Anthony drops his before I can steal it and I smirk in triumph.

I'm about to ask Anthony about Bianca when loud sirens cut me off. "Shit. Tony, go find Bi." Ashton orders his friend before he takes my arm and pulls me through the back yard. "I can't get arrested." I mutter to myself, running alongside Ashton. He scoffs. "You think I want to? Cut through here!" He takes my hand and pushes me through some bushes.

"Hey! You two! Stop!" A cop yells. "Well, shit." I say. Ashton rolls his eyes and keeps running, dragging me with him. I hear a car door shut and the officer's cruiser rides up on us. Ashton suddenly stops and just turns. I crash into him and we tumble to the ground. "Ow." I groan. "Again Charlie? Can't seem to keep your hands to yourself." He teases.

I stand and narrow my eyes at him. "You two, in." The cop growls. I help Ashton up and, with a glare, get inside the police car. Ashton slides in beside me and rubs his head. "That hurt." He complains. I roll my eyes. "Don't stop short then, moron." I retort. He leans over and flicks my nose. I scowl and pull back.

"Touch my face again and I'll chop off your fingers." I sneer. He laughs. "You're adorable when angry." He coos teasingly. I slap him upside the head and just stare out my window silently for the rest of the ride. The cruiser finally pulls into the police station and the guy drags us both out.

We're pulled into an interrogation room and forced into seats. "We didn't drink." Ashton informs the two men who are now standing in front of us. "Maybe not. But you were on the property where underaged teenagers did." He reminds us. I sigh and lean forward.

"Look, we did nothing wrong. Just let us go and we'll be out of your hair. You all can go home and relax. What do ya say?" I say smiling sweetly. The dude that dragged us in here leans
forward as well, stopping an inch away from my face. "I say, you stop trying to negotiate and wait until your parents get here." He says coolly.

I groan and sit back. Ashton chuckles at my attempts. "Their parents are here." A man says, sticking his head in. His eyes linger on me and I smirk. We're released from the room and he stops us. "Again, Johnson? You need to stop causing trouble." The chief says. I shrug and blink up at him innocently.

"Wasn't my fault this time, Chief. And don't act like I'm always here. I've caused trouble in your town and been caught ten times. Much less then my old hometown, Buddy." I say with a grin. He chuckles and shakes his head. "I hope to see less of you Charlie. Ashton, have a good night." He bids us goodbye and walks away.

"Been in custody before, have you?" Ashton taunts. I shrug with a smirk. "Trouble is my middle name." I sing, walking out with him following. Ashton swings an arm over my shoulder and smirks wickedly down at me.

"Well, you've got yourself a new partner in crime now, New Girl."
