"I was best friends with this girl Emily in freshman year through last year, our junior year. Her and her brother Ethan were like family to me. I wouldn't really let them come around my house much. Unless my mother wasn't going to be home." I start. Bianca focuses her full attention on me, making me slightly uncomfortable and nervous.

"Ethan and I had clear feelings for each other in sophomore year but refused to act upon it. Until halfway through. Em convinced us to just date already and we took her advice. We were really happy together." I say with a small smile. It quickly vanished when I remember what they did.

"Last year, that all burst into flames. I decided to introduce him to my mother. My first mistake. Mom wasn't exactly happy about finding out I was dating someone. She was even more furious when she found out they were from a different social status in our town then my family was." I scoff and shake my head. "Evil woman." I mutter.

"What was your second mistake?" Bi asks curiously. I look over at her. "I'm getting there. So, dinner went...okay I guess. It was severely awkward and my mom kept bombarding him with questions about money, where he lives, if he's in honor roll, what he wants to do with his life and other things. Some of them were typical questions." I begin once again.

She nods so I continue. "When dinner ended, I drove him home and he kissed me goodnight. I was beyond happy with the way everything was turning out. Too bad I was too naive to see what was right in front of me."

"I brought Ethan and Emily over more often, even when my mother was in the house. Which is where we find my second mistake. Trusting them. Eventually, I started noticing Eth disappearing more often. Acting more distant towards me. Naturally, I guessed he was either upset or cheating. I wasn't stupid enough not to suspect anything." I smile bitterly.

"I was right. I even spoke to Em but she played dumb. One day, when Ethan was sick, I left school early to go home and make him soup to bring. I wasn't ready for what I saw when I walked into my kitchen though. My mother and my boyfriend were making out." Bianca's jaw drops in disbelief.

"That is beyond disgusting and illegal!" She exclaims. I nod. "It was yes. After getting over the initial heartbreak that my boyfriend cheated on me, and with my mom, I threatened my mother with going to the cops. And telling my dad. She got pissed the hell off. Coincidentally, the next day Ethan and Emily ended up in the hospital from a car accident."

Bi frowns. "You don't think-"

I shake my head. "She was too obvious about it Bi. She just smirked when I told her and said karma is a bitch as if it was all his fault they hooked up behind my back. And get this, Emily knew about it the whole entire time. I visited them at the hospital to at least check on Em. But she admitted to it. She even drove him to my house multiple times for it."

"That bitch. I swear if I ever meet her-"

"They moved. Across the country I'm pretty sure. After the twins recovered, they wrote me a goodbye note and disappeared. For all I know, they're dead." I say coolly. Bianca scoffs. "Assholes. Is that why you moved here?" She asks. I look away and blink back tears.

"Partly. After this happened, there was a robbery when I was home alone and people broke into our home, tied me up and...they tried some nasty shit on me Bianca. Thankfully my dad got home before it could get further and the guys fled." I say softly. "Oh, Char." She whispers before coming over to hug me.

I don't let myself cry. I just avoid her eyes and finish speaking. "They mentioned Ethan. Said it was my fault he was gone. And he owed the men money. My father convinced Mom to let us move and...well now we're here. That town holds too many painful memories." I admit.
