the next morning, luke was hesitant to go out to face his parents. he didn't want them to be upset with him. he knew they liked calum and enjoyed his company but he didn't know how much they would like them being involved.
luke finally gained the confidence and walked out, his fluffy pajama pants dragging as he walked. he found his mom cleaning the kitchen and his dad playing some game on his phone.
"good morning," luke said, pushing his hair to the side as he made his way into the kitchen. he grabbed a box of cereal.
"can we talk?" his mom said, not waiting to drop the bomb. luke nodded in response, going over to sit by his dad.
"it's obvious you're nervous luke," his dad pointed out, talking about his shaky hands. he swallowed harshly, avoiding eye contact as much as possible.
"honey, we don't care that you kissed calum. we knew this was gonna happen," sarah said, smiling widely, "and it's fine. you're eighteen, you're responsible and calum's a good kid."
his dad patted his knee in response. luke didn't know what he was expecting, because they had never been mean to him so this encounter was not shocking. luke got up, wrapping his arms around his mother tightly before running back into his room.
he jumped onto his bed and grabbed his phone.
to: calum
come over pleaseeeeei miss u
calum groaned hearing his phone peep loudly. he rolled over and checked the messages. he didn't bother texting luke back because it was an obvious yes.
he got out of bed, throwing a t shirt and a sweatshirt on over his bare chest before leaving. it didn't take him long to get over to luke's. he had the route mastered and knew all the fastest ways. he knocked on their front door, rocking back and fourth on his heels.
sarah opened the door, smiling at the tattooed boy in front of her.
"he's in his room," was all she said before moving out of the way. he thanked her and said a quick hello to his dad before going to his room.
calum opened the door causing luke to squeal when he saw him.
"how'd you sleep lu?" he asked as he climbed on top of the queen size bed. he looked down at the younger boy's pajama pants and shook his head.
"it was okay, i was watching a scary movie and i thought it was gonna give me nightmares," luke began, rambling on and on about this scary movie he was watching. he managed to leave out the fact that it was the cat and the hat, the one with the real people.
after a few hours of talking, cuddling, and a lot of wii games. calum let luke win just a few times. after all the other activities, calum laid on his stomach, his head to the side and his t shirt rolled up. luke sat on top of his butt. his fingers traced over the ink of his back gently.
"why did you get this one?" luke asked as he poked the moons that were on his spine. this is what they had been doing for the last hour or so, luke would just trace the tattoos and calum would explain what they meant.
"they're moons, i just thought they were cool," calum responded shrugging his shoulders a bit.
"one day can we get matching ones?" luke asked as he rolled of calum to lay down beside him.
"you'd cry like a bi- baby, you'd cry like a baby," calum laughed as he turned his body to face luke's.
"shut up."
