THE COMPANY moved on after the trying events of the previous night. However, this did not start out much better. We picked everything up and started to move on, when it started raining, and I was once again stuck riding on the pony with Thorin. At least this time there was no talking. He was still angry with the events of the previous night, but at least no one knew the words I had spoke to him. I was rather ashamed of them, because he definitely is a king who cares greatly for his kin and people. I know he was abandoned by my kind, but I am not like many of my kin in Greenwood.

As we moved on the rain only came down stronger, and while I had my cloak, Thorin's fur lined one kept dripping in my face. At one point I attempted to try and get rid of the dripping water, but was only left with a glare for touching the cloak.

Rain had never been something that usually bothered me but this was an utter inconvenience. From behind I could hear the clattering of teeth and the moaning of some of the dwarves.

As the rain kept coming Dori eventually spoke up, "Here, Mr. Gandalf? Can't you do something about this deluge?"

Gandalf just huffed, "It is raining, master dwarf. And it will continue to rain until the rain is done! If you wish to change the weather of the world, you should find yourself another wizard."

This sparked interest with Bilbo, "are there any?"

"What?" Gandalf questioned.

"Other wizards."

"There are five us. The greatest of our order is Saruman, The White. Then there are the two blue wizards. Do you know, I've quite forgotten their names..." he trailed off in thought.

I turned around slightly, "there names are Alatar and Pallando, they came to help keep Sauron's forces at a smaller number in the east."

"You are quite right, they haven't been heard from in thousands of years," Gandalf pondered.

"Who's the fifth?" Bilbo questioned.

This caused Gandalf to smile, "Well, that would be Radagast, The Brown," I quite liked him, an off fellow but he did is best to help protect the animals and wildlife in the Greenwood.

"Is he a great wizard or is he...more like you?" I turned to Bilbo with a slight scowl, "Mithrandir is a great wizard."

"Thank you Miriel, I think he's a very great wizard, in his own way. He's a gentle soul who prefers the company of animals to others. He keeps a watchful eye over the vast forestlands to the East, and a good thing too, for always evil will look to find a foothold in this world," a shudder than through me at the thought of what would come if we had to enter Greenwood. There are terrible forces at work within those trees and only so much can keep them away.

Hours passed and the rain finally let up and it was nearing dark. We came upon a small destroyed cabin by the edge of the woods. The air around us was foul, not with smell but the atmosphere. Something terrible had happened here.
