*Hazels P.O.V.*

My life sucks. Just when I thought it was going pretty well, cancer just made its way back into my body. Why does the universe hate me? Is this karma for something I did?

"My next appointment is in a week." I said to Jake with tears rolling down my face.

"Okay, I'll go with you." He said grabbing my hand.

"I don't think I could go through this without you." I said frowning.

"I love you Hazel, I would do anything for you." Jake said Wiping the tears off my cheeks .

"I love you too." I said kissing his cheek.

"How about we have dinner tonight. Come to my place and I'll make us some pizza or something." I said .

"Sounds great." He said walking into his apartment.

When Jake knocked on my door I almost tripped trying to get to the door.

"Hey." Jake said.

"Hey." I replied back, taking the pizza out of the oven.

"So Hazel there's something I have to say to you." He said, I could sense some nervousness in his voice.

"Your not breaking up with me because I have cancer are you?" I asked almost crying.

"No! No, I just was thinking.....since we both love each other.....and I honesty want to spend the rest of my life with you and I never want to loose you," he got down on one knee and pulled a box from his pocket. "Hazel Grace Lancaster, will you marry me?" He asked.

So many emotions were rushing through me and my heart was beating out of my chest.

"Jake...." I said smiling.

"We don't have to get married right away. We can finish college then get married and settle down. I know this seems sudden, but I love you. " he looked down then back up at me. "So, will you do me the honor of becoming Hazel Price?" He grinned.

"Oh Jake!" I screamed reaching for his head and pulling him in for a kiss. " Yes, a million times Yes!" I said putting the ring on my finger. It was a silver ring with a diamond on top. It was a perfect fit.
