Today I have a follow up doctors appointment to see how fast the cancer is spreading, or spreading at all for that matter. I think I'm just going to go alone because I don't want to put Jake in anymore pain, and remind him that I might die.

I walked into the waiting room and took a seat, but this time I wasn't scared at all.

"Hazel." My doctor said opening the door between the waiting room and the cat scan room.

"Coming." I said standing up and I followed her into one of the rooms.

"Okay, let's take a look and see if anything is spreading." She said with a slight smile.

"Whatever." I frowned.

She looked at me then tilted her head. " Hazel...just because things aren't going very well in your life right now, doesn't mean they won't get better." She said hooking me up to the monitor.

I just looked down with shame and sat there.

Then I saw Dr.Maria look at the monitor then at me and her expression twisted with confusion.

"What is it?" I asked nervously.

"Well Hazel..... Your a very lucky girl. It looks like our monitor messed up your results in your last appointment." She said.

"So, this means?" I asked smiling.

"It means your cancer was never back." She grinned.

"But what about that night I couldn't breathe and went to the ER?" I asked reluctantly.

"It's very rare, but it was a fluke thing. Don't worry about it Hazel, your cancer free." She said unhooking me from the machine.
