calling song mingi "vaguely familair" was probably unfair to the boy. it's just, san isn't always great with names, even that of someone he'd grown up with. in his defense, he hasn't seen the taller male in a long time, and the boy has changed significantly.
"so how do you know seonghwa?" mingi asks suspiciously, making conversation while they navigate through the crowd.
"i don't." san shrugs truthfully, eyeing the male carefully. "he was just flirting with this girl i know."
"this girl you know?" mingi repeats doubtfully, eyeing san just as cautiously. "was it chengxiao?"
"how do you know-" san shoots back in surprise, but cuts himself off. "yeah, and?"
"our school's not that big. word gets around." mingi says in turn, before adding, "we used to be friends, you know. maybe you don't remember but-"
"no, i remember. but that was a long time ago." san replies indifferently. he doesn't like people from his past reminding him of its events.
mingi looks like he's about to say something, and san stops him with the hint of an eye roll. "if you're going to hit me with the 'you've changed' crap, spare me."
"i wasn't!" mingi denies, making for the stairs. "i was going to ask why you're helping out yeosang. you don't even know him."
"if i told you i was trying to get into his friend's pants, would you judge me?" san drawls, bounding after him and cursing his tall genes.
mingi scoffs in answer, clearly judging. "let's check the bedrooms." he grouches, pushing open one of the doors to no avail.
san smirks presumptuously, strolling breezily to the next door. it's open a crack, and sure enough, he can hear the familiar muffled sounds of chengxiao's whines from within. he wrinkles his nose, waving mingi over.
"in there." he gestures with his head, mimicking a gagging action. "guess i'll do the honors."
he takes a deep breath, ready to act the role of the betrayed boyfriend. san flings the door open dramatically, stepping into the darkened room and flicking the light switch on with a feigned gasp of horror.
"chengxiao!" he exclaims, a hand over his heart, and the girl stops what she's doing to let out a little scream of surprise.
the platinum haired guy, presumably the infamous seonghwa, pulls down his shirt and half lifts his head, annoyed to have been disturbed. chengxiao looks similarly bothered when she sees it's him, and he gives up the act, leaning against the door frame lazily while mingi follows him into the room.
the male shoots him a look, chiding his unnecessary show. "do you need to be so dramatic?" mingi huffs before fixing his hard eyes darkly upon the blonde.
"are you seonghwa?" he asks, and the boy in the bed nods skeptically.
"better yet, are you park seonghwa?" san pushes, quite enjoying the whole ordeal.
"and what if i am?" seonghwa questions apprehensively, and san catches a glimpse of his tattoo when he raises his arm to run a hand though his dyed hair.
