There are several school boards across the world. The most influential include the Wellspring Board of Magick, The Tribunal Magick Schools of Greater Europe, La Sociedad de las Escuelas de Magia, and finally, The Grand Imperial Magick Education. These four boards are made up of several schools across their regions. They focus on standardizing their educations, as well as keeping up with the rules and regulations of the magickal world.
Wellspring Board of Magick
Located in North America, this board consists of four schools located within the United States. The most popular and renown, Muggsworth Academy of Magick, is located in Port Angeles, Washington. It was founded in 1748 by Ephraim Merlin after needing an organized magick education because of the Salem Witch Trials. Many Canadian and American students find their way to Muggsworth and study there for several years. Muggsworth is known for its close connection to the Greek Gods and many successful alumni.
Next, is Emray Preparatory located near Fontana Lake in North Carolina. Emray is a private school that places a high priority on blood purity. They only accept pure-blood warlocks and witches, or certain pure-blood species. They have less notable alumni than Muggsworth but remain a prized possession for the exceptional talents their students are capable of. It was founded in 1894 by Julep Narcissus, a politician from the defense council of their government. It refused to integrate with (pureblood) creatures until 2010.
Corinth School of Magickal Arts is located beside Teringula, Texas. Home to many Mexican and refugee students, Corinth wasn't welcomed into the education board until 1998. Even now, with immigration reformation, Corinth tries hard to protect its students with very little assistance from mortal and magickal governments alike. The board does protect it to some extent. The school itself was a creation of a board decision to relocate refugee magicians to a ghost town. In 1903, Corinth was created and nearly every undocumented or deep southern, or immigrant magician has attended said school. It receives less funding than the others but still thrives.
Levian School of Magick, founded in 1800 by Lution Veritona. Levian has served as a culturally diverse school of the arts. They have been fully integrated since its creation, specifically because of how many species reside in Illinois, where the school is located. Like Muggsworth, Levian is a boarding school. Next to Muggsworth, it receives the most funding of the schools and graduates incredibly powerful magicians.
The Tribunal Magick Schools of Greater Europe
Epileum Academy of Elite Magickal Arts, located in Glastonbury, England, was founded in 1313 by eight high-class witches and wizards. They came together to create a school to protect and teach young witches, wizards, and fae of all kinds. The founders believed in magickal unity and made the essence of the school. The names of the founders are hidden deep within the school, safe from harm, including most of its history. Not many people know its secrets, except for the headmasters of the school. Now, it is the number one magick school in the world, led by Headmistress Oakham. The school currently has smaller campuses across Europe, most notably separating their first and second years from the main campus until they take placement tests.
Vista Goshk Elite Preparatory for Magickal Creatures is a private magick school for creature students located in Turkey. Known for their elite sports teams and city-sized campus, Vista Goshk became the first safe haven for magickal creatures when it was founded in 1534.
Novaskosha Magickal Institute of Excellence is the number two magical school in Europe. Novaskosha is known for its production of elite wizards and witches. Admitting a large number of non creature students every year, they have a long history of small graduating classes and the propelling of magick stereotypes. Shaping young students into the perfect models for the positions they will fill as adults, Novaskosha is the number one pick for many elite Magick families.
The Grand Imperial Magick Education
The first magick school founded in Asia was the Similan School of Sorcery in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. In 1674, this school was created for magick natives of Thailand, including creatures (with some limitations as to which ones). The founder, Apinya Chungam, had witnessed small groups of natives and creatures practicing in relatively deserted places and communities. As a magician herself, she began small with native practices in a small schoolhouse. It eventually expanded into a massive, prestigious boarding school where her statue stands proud to this day.
The Dragon Magick School, located in Ordos Kangbashi, is the largest magick school in the known world. It houses over one million students, ranging from pre-k to what is essentially highschool. No one knows exactly its origins, but that it was thought to be a safe haven from the Chinese government during times of anti-magick laws. Though their government is now aware of their operations and continues to monitor it, not much has been made public about the school.
Stanislavsky Sorcery and Schooling, a Russian school working out of an abandoned submarine base in Kamchatka, is one of the smallest schools in the magickal community. It holds around 300 students a year. In each cycle, the students train extensively to harness their magick. It is a very private school, and thus very little information is allowed to be published about the school.
One very famous school, located in Osaka, Japan, is the Jade School of Magickal Excellence. It is quite possibly the best school in Asia, with a high rate of graduation, and amazingly high grades amongst its students. However, they remain very private about the history of their school and the secret to their success.
Within Fatehpur Sikri, India, another of the largest sorcery schools bustles with a little over half a million students. A Saraswati Institute for Magicians was founded in 1863 when magick communities began to gather together, creating the school. The campus is open, incorporating much of nature alongside more modern practices. Much of what is taught derives from traditional magick, aligned with their own gods and goddesses. Students from the Middle East typically travel into India to attend the school without the scrutiny of their own governments.
La Sociedad de las Escuelas de Magia
Hidden deep within the trees of a cloud forest in Monteverde, Costa Rica, Escuela de Primavera Magia flows with magick. This institution was founded in 1434 by Belita Gámez who had hopes of protecting the native practitioners of magick. Many of the students end up working in horticulture, zoology, or some other form of naturalistic job. During their time at the school, students work heavily with nymphs and the magickal creatures that surround them.
On Mount Roraima, Brazil, is Angels University, a thousand-year-old school based in Catholicism. The school is rumored to have been a gift from God to His children, the magicians of Brazil. Besides those rumors, not much is known about the foundation of this university.
At the bottom of Lake Epuyén, in Chubut, Argentina, lays a beautiful private school. La Universidad Jacaranda. Outside the windows of the school beautiful creatures can be seen swimming past. It is heavily protected from the pressure of the water and peeping eyes of mountain climbers. Within its charms, groves of Jacaranda trees brighten the dark underwater. Founded in 1876, the school continues to thrive with students from all over South America.
Magickal Institutions
Not every school is listed here, but these are some of the most notable schools around the world. They each have a role in their educational boards, in the international government, and hold very influential ties to their communities. Most modern schools follow the Epileum tradition of being a boarding school of seven years, however, there are what some consider to be k-12 schools scattered throughout the world.
Schools in the African Provinces have asked to not be included on the world stage, despite this, they do have a seat on the council should they wish to join. It is a matter of privacy and respecting cultural values.
