No one can prove whether or not their God(s) is tangible and real. Mythology and lore provide evidence that the Egyptian and Greek gods are some of the oldest. The creatures that follow them also have masses of historical and cultural tidbits that give insight into what their Gods are like. But are they real? Well, most historians would say that seeing is believing, so, in their words, no. For us authors, we cannot say with certainty.

It is, however, widely accepted in the wizarding community that the sudden lack of polytheism in the known modern world was part of the attempt to dispel magickal happenings. Many traditions found in monotheism were taken from pagan celebrations and cultures, while the prosecution of such pagans and magicians happened at the same time. Scholars believe that magick, should there be a "higher being", would have originated from more than one God or Goddess. A majority of the magickal community agrees, however the use of monotheism in practices is still widely accepted. There is religious tolerance, even with the notion of polytheism being the origination of magick.

Muggsworth, a prestigious and powerful school within the States, is one such religious school that follows the teachings of Hellenismos, or Hellenism, the way of the Greeks. They say it is because the Greek Gods now preside over America and Greece, and provided safety during times of trouble. They even go as far to say the Greek Gods helped to found the school. While there are documentations of such things, of course there is no hard evidence to prove such things.

Concerning the Gods and their children, there have been several reports of Demigods. Governments have simply written them off as having a mutation in their genetics, or as being "simply strong magicians". After rumors that all Demigod children had been killed by Zeus or Ra, there has been a noticeable lack of "strong magicians". There are possibly rumors or people who craved fame for their talents.

Overall, the incorporation of a religious belief into magick is a common trend. It can never be squashed. However, the rumors and wars waged deriving from religious intolerance are always dangerous things. One must always be careful when it comes to religion. Angry Gods make for terrible days.
