A creature of great power and mythology, the griffin represents protection from witchcraft and evil. With the head and wings of an eagle and the body and tail of a lion, the creature is respected for its symbolic meaning of courage and power. Its mythological connections to many cultures make it a widely cherished creature.

The griffin has origins in Greece, Egypt, and Iran. It has even made its way into Christianity for its divine likeness. It is difficult, however, to determine if these creatures even exist. If so, it most likely lives in a warm, desert-like climate. It is possible these creatures have gone extinct, or are endangered. There have been cases of feathers, talons, and teeth of unknown creatures found in relatively remote locations. All these have similar magickal signatures that cannot be pinpointed. However, it is widely believed they come from the elusive griffin.
