TW: brief suicide mention, homophobia/ transphobia, implied death

Remy looked anything but pleased. "Stay in the car you two," they grumbled out shutting the car door. The boys watched as Remy walked over to Emile. They spoke frantically using an inane amount of hand gestures. Patton could barely hear anything except for Remy occasionally shouting something along the lines of "What are you fucking nuts."

Patton watched out the window at the two as Logan stayed stationary. The window fogged up from Patton's warm breath as the two continued to talk. Remy refused to calm down and kept walking around and running their hand through their hair. At one point Remy took off their sunglasses and rubbed their face with their hand. They looked frustrated like they were about to cry and/or break something.

Emile placed their hands on Remy's shoulders saying something to them. Remy refused to calm down. They pulled away, starting back towards the car. "We are leaving!" they started to Emile loudly. "Remy please if not for him then for Logan," Emile retorted. Remy growled and stomped away in the opposite direction.

Emile opened the car door and Logan and Patton stepped out. They lead the two boys through the dewy grass. Patton looked over at Logan for an answer but the taller boy seemed lost in thought. They eventually stopped. In front of the three was a man with his back to them, sitting in the wet grass next to a headstone.

Logan's blood ran cold. He took a step back almost falling. This could not be happening. The man turned around hearing the footsteps. Patton and Logan were both white as sheets. He was scruffy looking at looked tired. He had a blue rose in his hand and his clothes were at least a size too big for him. He looked at Logan with a nervous smile. "Hey, Lo, long time no see?" he said chuckling nervously.

Logan only shook his head. He wanted to run. He wanted to scream and punch and cry. He wanted to get as far away as possible. But that wouldn't be logical. Logan couldn't stoop down to his level. After a few moments, Logan mustered up any voice that he had "Why are you here?" He stood in front of Patton. The man stood up leaving the rose in front of the grave.

"I haven't been here in years. I couldn't bring myself to. But I guess I had an epiphany. Didn't have anything to do but think. I thought about what she would say if she could see me, see you." he smiled wearily, "I want to make things right, I don't care how long it'll take or how hard it'll be. I'm...I'm sorry Logan. I want to try, and I know that your brother er sibling(?) hates me and you probably do too but maybe I can change that,"

"You really hurt them..they don't trust anyone anymore because of you. They opened up to you and you told them they were a disappointment and broken." Logan said in his monotone voice.

"I know, and I want to apologize to them if they'd let me. One of the inmates...his friend killed himself because his dad couldn't accept that he was trans.....I don't think I could live if that happened to either of you...I know it doesn't seem like it but I love you two with everything I have. I'm sorry I was so blind."

They didn't say anything for a while, no one knowing what to say. The warm air was stiff other than a few flower petals drifting through the air. Patton peaked out from behind Logan. The man smiled at him and offered up a spot next to him to sit. Patton started to walk over when Logan grabbed the smaller boys' arm. "Patton, I advise you not to. Do you not recall what he did?"

Patton took Logan's hand off his arm and held it, "He's willing to change Lo, he deserves another chance," Patton said. He sat down next to the man. They chatted for a while and soon Logan came and sat down too, keeping his distance. He smiled "You picked a good one boy," he said to Logan gesturing to Patton who was zoned out watching the birds. Logan blushed only nodding.

Emile watched the three from a distance. "Would ya look at that..." They smiled to themself placing a small daisy on the top of a headstone before going off to find Remy.
