Eventually, the group got back to their cars and were ready to leave. Emile decided It would be better for them to take their own vehicles seeing as Remy still wasn't really ready to spend long amounts of time with their father. Remy got into the car wiping the remaining tears from their face and putting their sunglasses back on. They turned to the two teens in the backseat "If you tell anyone about this.... you're dead." They scolded before turning back and driving out of the parking area. Lets just said their emotional instability did not help their reckless driving.
The two siblings didn't exactly feel comfortable staying with their father, Emile thinking it was best to stay with them (not that Logan was complaining). They had plenty of food and such and the Father had promised to help however he could.
Patton took Logan's hand noticing he was still a little shaken up. Logan pretended not to notice despite the blush on his face. Patton couldn't help but smile. For the rest of the ride, Patton chatted on about whatever came to mind as Logan listened intently to every word. The two cars pulled into the respective driveways and went inside.
Remy stormed off to the room they were staying in, not wanting to talk to anyone. Patton went to the kitchen to make some tea for him and Logan. As the water boiled, Logan sat down on the porch swing staring at the house across the street. He tried to prosses the fact that his father was inhabiting to once again. Was he really ready for him to be that close? He didn't really have a choice in the matter though did he. The teen was doubtful his father actually wanted to change. He would just have to take Emile's word for it for the time being. At least until more evidence presented itself. The front door creakily opened as Patton stepped onto the porch with the two steaming mugs.
"I tea you're enjoying the nice weather huh Lo," Patton said with a smile. He handed Logan a mug sitting down on the swing.
Logan sighed taking the mug. "The things I put up with," he remarked, blowing on the hot beverage. The two wordlessly stared at the house. Patton glanced over at logan who looked troubled.
"You alright Logan? I know how hard that must have been for you. I mean I don't know-know but I have a pretty good idea and it couldn't have been easy."
"I'm fine Patton it just...suprised is all," He said after a moment. "I honestly don't know how I should feel but I'm sure I will figure it out in time." He took a sip of the tea his glasses fogging up a bit.
"W-well Lo there isn't really a right way to feel. However, you feel about it is right for you. It's okay to not know your feelings but you shouldn't force yourself to feel a certain way just because it's 'Normal'" Patton said simply looking at the clouds blow across the sky.
"I-" Logan couldn't think of anything to say except "Thank you," He hadn't realized how much he needed to hear that.
Patton seemed to understand. He smiled at logan leaning his head on the taller boy's shoulder. "No problem Lo."
They just sat like that for a while, sipping on their tea and enjoying each other's company. They made little comments about whatever random things came to mind. The feel of the warm mugs provided warmth dispite the cooler breeze which was coming through the warm air. They both felt content for the first time in a long while.
"Hey, Logan?" Patton said looking up at Logan.
Logan hummed in response, looking down on Patton's freckled face and dirty glasses.
"But what was the thing you wanted to tell me earlier? In the parking lot?" he asked innocently.
Suddenly the warm tea felt cold. He didn't want to ruin this peaceful moment or jumble Patton's feelings. "It- it is not important. We can discuss it at a later date." He said letting the calm feeling settle back in.
