Patton opened his eyes to find himself lying in a hospital bed. He quickly sat up wincing a little. Logan was asleep in the chair beside his bed. The intellectual's arms were wrapped in bandages and he was without his glasses. Patton was startled as the door creaked open.

A man in a lab coat and scrubs walked in holding a clipboard. He gave Patton a smile approaching his bed. "I thought I heard some noise from in here, hey bud. How ya feeling?" The doctor questioned softly.

"What ha-happened?" Patton questioned facing the doctor.

"Well from what I've been told, your dad called the cops after he saw that you'd gone and assumed you'd gone to rescue your friend here," the doctor said motioning towards the sleeping Logan.

"When the police got there your friend was holding you and his dad was passed out on the ground. Your friend was pretty banged up but luckily he's fine. You, however, had a lot of internal bleeding," the doctor added handing Patton a clipboard with his name at the top.

"You should be fine now, just make sure to take it easy alright?" The doctor said with a smile, ruffling the small boy's hair a little before walking out.

Patton held the clipboard in both hands read it carefully.

Name: Patton Heart Picani
Gender: Male
Diagnosis: Internal bleeding in the midsection, successfully patched up. On bed rest till further notice.

The small boy's eyes darted across the words on the page realizing he wasn't dreaming. All that had really happened hadn't it? He suddenly became aware of the painful headache pounding against his skull. He gripped his head tightly in his hands.

"Patton?"

Patton looked up, tears falling down his face only to be met with the intellectual's eyes gazing into his.

"Logan! Are you alright? I'm so sorry, I should have done something to protect you. Are you okay?" Patton said frantically. Logan sighed.

"Patton, I should be asking if you're alright. You're the one in the hospital bed." Logan retorted seemingly going up to fix his glasses before remembering that they weren't on his face.

"I- I'm sorry if I hadn't if rushed in-"

"Patton?"

"I was so stupid-"

"Patton,"

"I should have thought things through-"

"Patton!"

Suddenly he felt strong arms around him. Patton hadn't realized he had started crying again. He looked to see the arms belonged to Logan. He suddenly felt his face get warm.

"Thank you,"
