Kirsty's POV:
Today was the day of Jack's tonsillectomy, both his GP and Blair thought this would be good for him as he kept getting tonsillitis which wasn't good for his throat. They checked and saw that this surgery won't affect his singing voice which was great. He is a musician by trade after all. Jack hadn't eaten since midnight last night, so he was hungry this morning but he had to wait until after his surgery to eat, he had packed an overnight bag just in case there was any complications with the surgery that would require him to stay in the hospital for longer. Blair was going to drive us there and back, I was going to be staying at the hospital with Jack the whole time but Blair had a couple of meetings so he would not be accompanying us all day. At least we had a trusted, free taxi for the day.

"Jack, are you ready to go? Blair's here!" I called by the front door.

"Coming, just putting my shoes on!" He called back. I picked up my backpack and keys, I had come prepared with a book, downloaded some sitcoms on my phone with Netflix and I even had a sudoku pad. I was definitely not going to be bored today. But I was mainly going to support Jack, I could tell he was nervous about having surgery but it had to be done if he wanted to stop getting sick with throat infections. Jack came to the door with his backpack, he was dressed in comfy sweatpants and a hoodie today for the occasion.

"There you are, come on. Blair's waiting for us." I said, just as I said that I heard the beep beep of Blair's car.

"Alright, I'm coming. Hold your biscuits!" Jack said trying to find his coat, whenever Jack thinks I'm being impatient he always tells me to 'hold my biscuits'. It never fails to make me giggle under my breath. Jack came out and I locked up, I'd taken Vogue to my friends house for the day because I didn't know how long we would be at the hospital for. Me and Jack both sat in the back seat, Ginger was in the front seat as she was being taken to her dance rehearsal later, I didn't mind sitting in the back as it meant that me and Jack got of snuggle.

Part way through the journey, I heard Jack's stomach rumbling with hunger. It honestly sounded like some sort of prehistoric creature.

"Do we have a whale in the back?" Blair teased looking into the mirror, Jack blushed and looked down at the floor embarrassed.

"He wasn't allowed to eat since last night, bless him. You're starving, aren't you Munchkin?" I asked Jack.

"Yeah, I just want a big burger with chips right now!" Jack fantasied, to be honest I could go for burger too.

"Well, after your surgery you need to eat soft foods so burgers will have to wait." I told him, letting him down gently. He loves his food.

We made it to the hospital and got Jack checked in, I was given an extended visitors badge as I was staying beyond visiting hours, he was put onto a ward where he was given a hospital gown with an ass gap.

"Ugh, I don't want to wear this." Jack moaned, I giggled at him.

"Why not, you have cute little butt cheeks!" I told him, playfully slapping his bum.

"No one is allowed to see them, that is for me and Jesus!" He protested, dramatically putting his hand on his chest. I just sat on his bed and laughed my head off.

"Just go and get changed, the doctor will be here in a few minutes." I said pushing him towards the bathroom. I sat down in the little chair next to his bed, there was a little bedside table and a drawer. I got set up with my book and sudoku pad, this was a bit like a flight but I wasn't going anywhere. I was told by the receptionist that I was allowed to leave the ward if I wanted to and go to the cafe downstairs or the mini WHSmiths, but I was only allowed on Jack's ward. It's not like I would go exploring the  chromie ward with all the bowel patients anyway. Jack soon emerged from the toilet, he had one hand holding the flaps of the ass gap together which didn't look right when he was walking.

"Jack, no one cares if they see your bum. It's just anatomical to the staff." I tried to reassure him to make him more comfortable.

"What about the patients?" Jack challenged.

"Well they shouldn't be looking down there, your eyes are up here." I explained.

"Oh, yeah that's good." He said offering me a high five, I high fived him obviously. I don't leave people hanging.

"That was the hand that was just up my ass!" Jack laughed, eww that was totally gross!

"You really are one of the most disgusting humans I've ever met." I told him.

"Yet you sleep with me anyway." Jack sassed back, I slapped his shoulder. He was overstepping the mark. At least he seemed more comfortable now, not as nervous as he was last night about it. Some nurses came and quickly took some checks on Jack before his operation, confirming he hadn't eaten and the other confusing nurse stuff. The doctor soon came in and explained the procedure to Jack, obviously running through the risks of the surgery. I saw Jack getting nervous again, shaking with fear. I held is hand and rubbed his knuckles with my thumb to try and calm him down.

"It's going to be alright Bubba, I'll walk down to theatre with you and I'll be right here when you wake up. You're going to rock this." I whispered into his ear, the decided to transport him in a wheelchair even though he was capable of walking, but they knew he was a bit insecure about the ass gap thing so they let him have it. I held his hand and walked down with him, until we reached a sign that said 'No visitors beyond this point' it was time for me to go, I squatted down to Jack's height in the wheelchair.

"I love you Babe, see you when you wake up." I told him.

"I love you too Squish." He said before we shared a tender kiss together.

Jack's POV:
"Alright Mr Duff, are you nervous." The surgeon asked me.

"A little." I replied, I was on the operating table now and I could feel the busy atmosphere around me as I stared up at the ceiling.

"It's going to be just fine...now just breathe in the happy gas." She said putting the mask over my face, I instantly thought of Kirsty as I fell asleep.

I woke up, my vision was slightly blurry and my throat hurt. I looked to my side as saw Kirsty sat there running her hands through my hair.

"Hi Baby, hope you slept well. You're surgery went really well, they are able to discharge you in a few hours." Kirsty explained, it took a while for me to come to with my senses but it was improving. I took another small nap to pass the time, I couldn't talk right now but me and Kirsty played a little game of yes and no because I could just nod and shake my head. A nurse gave me a little pot of jelly to eat, it was cool and soft which helped my throat feel a tiny bit better. The doctor came back with my prescription medication and told us that I could go home, I was advised to rest and drink plenty of fluids and avoid people with a cold or flu to avoid infection. Kirsty had to help me change back into my own clothes as I was too weak to stand up properly right now, they supplied me with another wheelchair to leave the hospital with to get to Blair's car.

"Hey there Duffman, ready to go?" He asked me, I nodded as Kirsty wheeled me out to the car park. Blair helped me into the front seat as Kirsty returned the wheelchair, I was so thankful she was there with me today. I would have been a nervous wreck without her. Blair drove us back home, he picked me up like a baby and carried me.

"It must be love, love love! Doo Doo!" Kirsty sang as Blair carried me into the house and laid me down on the bed, she made me smile. He said goodbye and drove off, leaving me and Kirsty together.

"Do you want an ice pop or something?" Kirsty asked me, I shook my head. I was ready for bed to be honest.

"You sleepy?" She asked me, I nodded slowly.

"Ok Baby, I'll let you sleep. If you need anything just shoot me a text." Kirsty said, tucking me in and kissing my forehead. I decided I would text her straight away, not to be a needy bitch but just to thank her:

Thank you so much for being there with me today, I couldn't have done it without you Baby Squish 😘💕 I love you so much xxx
