Jack's POV:

For the last few months, I've noticed that during the school day I am always watching the clock on the wall. Slowly watching time go by, and in my head I am counting down the minutes, not until lunchtime, not until we can go home, but I'm counting down the minutes until science class. In no way was it my most favourite subject, that one is reserved for music, but it is the class where I am sat with Kirsty. Kirsty, Kirsten, Kirsten Addison! She was a very pretty and very kind girl and I always liked being her science partner, she would laugh at all my cheesy science jokes and she would joke back with me, I was always smiling around her and she would never fail to brighten up my day.

Here I was again, watching the hands of the clock slowly go round the face. English today was dragging so much, despite us reading An Inspector Calls, it was just one of those days, if only science could go this slow. I wouldn't mind it at all. Just a little longer, you can do this Jack, just think about the laughs you would be able to share in a matter of time with Kir-

Part way through my little day dream, I heard the bell go off. It was finally time for science! I packed up my stationary and put it in my backpack, I was all ready for next lesson. I got out of my seat and headed out the classroom, I like to get there before Kirsty so I could grab her folder for her and put it on our desk, just a little something to show my admiration for her.

"Jack, bro slow down! My shoe laces are undone." I heard my friend Brooklyn say from behind me, he was on one knee starting to tie them again. I was bouncing on the balls of my feet itching to get to class, I didn't want to be late.

"Just tuck them in, stop with the fancy knots!" I told him, urging him to hurry up.

"Mate, chill out. It's only science, if I were you I'd be skiving." Brooklyn said as he finished up a perfect double knot.

"Well I like science, and I hate being late so can you please just hurry up!" I said starting to walk ahead as he picked up his bag.

"Oh I get it." Brooklyn said as he caught up with me.

"Get what?" I asked him.

"Muff before mates, innit!" He replied.

"What!" I said surprised at him, little innocent Brooklyn using that terminology.

"You fancy that Kirsty, don't you?" He asked, with a somewhat omniscient tone.

"I never said that!" I defended myself, not that there was anything bad about liking Kirsty. It's just I didn't want anyone else to find out about my crush on her, just incase it turned out that she didn't like me back, I couldn't handle the embarrassment.

"You imply it, I see the way you look at her in class, I see how everyday you get her folder and you giggle. I swear I have never heard you giggle outside of science class." Brooklyn said as we approached the classroom.

"Well I have no reason to giggle when I'm with you, Brooklyn. You're all boring and vanilla!" I sassed in his face as we parted ways as we weaved through the desks.

"Ouch, words can hurt, Jack." Brooklyn said as he dramatically put a hand on his heart and made his way to his desk, I rolled my eyes and made my way to mine. I noticed that Kirsty was already sat at our desk with her folder, dammit I was too late! But I noticed that she got my folder out for me.

"Looks like I beat you to it today, Jack." She said as I put my bag down on the floor, I really liked her outfit today. She was wearing a purple galaxy crop top thingy, it looked really nice on her.
