Leila woke up. Her heart sunk as she realised she'd have to wait the whole day until she could dream about Forks again. Dream about the Cullens and the wolf packs. She'd dreamed about them every night for years. She knew every detail. Everything they had gone through. Dreaming was her escape from reality.
Her life was much more boring compared to theirs. She'd just finished school for the year. Year 10. Only just scraping through with low C's. It was the Christmas holidays in Australia. Leila sat up and stretched. Sweat dripped down her back. It was sweltering hot. She got up and walked to the bathroom to wash her sticky, sweaty face.
Leila looked in the mirror at herself. Her dark brown, shoulder length hair was plastered to her tan face from the humidity. Freckles splattered across her face. Her eyes were a light, icy blue colour. She was an average height and average weight, but she still wished she could be skinnier.
Leila turned the tap on and cupped her hands full of water. She closed her eyes and splashed it onto her face. It was cool and refreshing. Suddenly she heard a knock on the door. Her parents were at work and her older brother had moved out of home so she had to get the door by herself. She hated answering the door. Thoughts raced through her head as she came up with dozens of scenarios. Who could it be? A murderer? The police?
Whoever was out there knocked again. It wasn't a very harsh knock so she grabbed a towel and dried her face, then cautiously approached the front door. Her hands shook as she reached for the door knob. I have to answer this. It could be important. No. It is important. She told herself, it was reassuring, then twisted the knob and opened the door.
