Agony

Leila's P.O.V

Emily and Jacob finished running the bath and they came back out and told Carlisle. "Thank you. Let's get her in." Jacob came over and lifted her up. Leila looked at Seth wishing he could be the one to carry her in. But he was shaking too much. He imprinted on me. Leila tried to call to him to come with her, but instead she just screamed in pain as her bones began to shift again. She hung limply in Jacob's arms as he carried her and then put her in the bath. He held her head so her face wouldn't be under the water. The water felt amazing against her skin. She closed her eyes trying to forget what was happening. 

Seth's P.O.V

Seth walked into the bathroom. He was so afraid for her. Leila looked over at him. She was already exhausted and the sun had only just set. 

"Maybe Seth should go out." Edward said. "He's causing her added stress."

"No. Edward. I told her I'd stay with her." Seth's voice cracked and he took a step towards the bath. "I have to stay with her."

Edward put his hands on Seth's shoulders and held him back. "Seth you are making her more anxious. You can see her once she phases. Just not right now." Seth pushed back against Edward.

"No. I can't leave. Please. She might die!" He started crying and pushed past Edward. He knelt beside the bath and held Leila's hand. Leila looked at him.

"I.. I might die? Why did no one tell me?" She asked and looked into Seth's eyes.

Seth felt a wave of guilt. He was making this worse for her. Unable to control himself he reached into the bath and tried to lift her into his arms. I need her. She needs to be okay. I have to hold her. Jacob, using the arm that wasn't holding her head pushed Seth back. "Seth back off."

Seth started to shake as intense fear took over. "Get him outside. Now!" Jacob yelled and Sam ran into the bathroom. He grabbed Seth by the shirt and pulled him outside. Sam put Seth down and he phased. Seth ran off into the forest and howled loudly. 

Leila's P.O.V

Leila heard Seth's howl and she started crying again. Suddenly she started shivering. "Carlisle. She's freezing now." Jacob informed.

Carlisle nodded. He walked over then lifted Leila out of the bath. "Her clothes will cause her to remain cold. We'll have to take them off. I expect her temperature will keep fluctuating so it's best if she has no clothing that'll make it harder for her to get warm." He looked at Leila. "Is it okay if I remove your clothes? The others can leave. It will just make it more comfortable for you I swear." Leila nodded her teeth were chattering. 

"I- I want S-Seth." 

"I know. But he can't be here right now. You will get through this and once it's under control you two can be together forever." Carlisle laid her down on a towel on the floor and knelt beside her. Emily, Sam and Edward went out of the bathroom. Leila wanted Jacob to stay. Carlisle grabbed a scalpel and cut her cast off first then cut the bottom of her shirt then ripped it off. He didn't want to have to move her too much so ripping the clothes was his best option. Jacob looked away as he ripped the remainder of her clothes off wrapped the towel around her. 

"Jacob you need to warm her up. If she gets really hot again she'll have to go back in the bath. I don't know what else I can do though." He looked at Jacob.

Jacob nodded then carefully put his arm under her back and the other over her. He held her very gently. Concentrating on not putting her in more pain than she was already experiencing. Carlisle sat on the ground staring at the floor. Leila started warming up quickly.

Before long she was burning up again and Jacob took the towel off and put her back in the bath. This process continues all throughout the night. Leila cried out in agony every few minutes. She couldn't move at all and the pain was too much. As midnight approached the pain got worse. Jacob was holding her again when it happened. 

A burning feeling ripped across her skin and she cried out again then phased.
