Ya know
A lot of people say
"Life goes on,"
Yeah it does
But isn't that sad?
Why?
Why does it have to go on?
I mean-
Why can't we stay in a time
At a place
Where everything is alright
Where we can laugh and smile
Like in elementary again
In middle school again
High school and college again
Sure
It's nice when things aren't going your way to just sit back and say
"Life goes on,"
But what about when things are okay?
Do you want the moment to pass?
To have every bit of joy in the small window of time
Be soon a faded fantasy
I guess what I'm trying to say is
Yes
Life goes on
The world keeps spinning no matter what
I'm sorry for that
Because I know
There are times when you can't sleep
And you look up at the moon and say to yourself
"How am I going to make it tomorrow?"
"How am I going to get up?"
"How can I continue when I just need to be frozen right here?"
Those nights
Are some of the most pure
They hold the only times when you
Can be purely you
And sometimes
You just want to lay and cry
Letting the tears roll down your face
And for once in a while
A long long while
You're at peace
You know you're not okay
You're not gonna be okay for a bit
But that's okay for now
You can live with it for now
You embrace every piece of your misery
They're an old friend that's done bad stuff
So that's the saddest part of life
It goes on
You won't ever get those few moments of peace
For longer than a second
Before you're forced to walk with the world as it keeps turning
