Stella

Hades smiled at me, when I came to breakfast the following day. I still hadn't apologized, so that was just weird.

Lucinda was in the kitchen after Hades left for work.

"So what just happened?" I asked.

"I told him that maybe it would help if you talked instead of arguing all the time." She said. "Was that stepping over the line?"

I shook my head. "Nah, it's fine. I'll go explore."

She smiled, and I left the kitchen.

I didn't want to go to the attic. Well, I kind of did, but it had more to do with the homey feel I had when being there.

I wandered aimlessly around the castle all day.

And I had to admit I was wondering about Hades. Because something about him was so attractive. But I wasn't about to put myself in a position where he could turn me down. We had so many encounters where we either yelled at each other or just stood too close while in a discussion.

I sat down in the library, scrolling through the globe without really having my heart in it. It was difficult when so many things were off limits. And mythology wasn't something you could find on the globe. And the books on the topic wouldn't let me read them.

The door was opened, and Lucinda had her hand on her heart. "You're in here?"

"Yes, so it would seem," I remarked dryly.

She nodded, a paper clutched in her hand. "Oh, I'll uhm, just leave you to it." She smiled a weak smile and left again, shutting the door with a bang in the process.
