Stella
I walked around all day next day, while Hades was at work. I didn't do much. The tiredness I hadn't experienced the day before had set in that day.
After lunch, Lucinda and I ate together, and she chatted about a girlfriend who was getting married, I collapsed on Hades' bed.
The covers were soft, yet I couldn't sleep. The letter I wrote him the day before circled in my mind, making me question the unfairness of it all. Why couldn't I remember him?
If I did remember it, I wanted to look up stories of people who'd died or been in a coma and see what they remembered.
Sleep was making my eyelids heavy, yet I still couldn't sleep.
Lucinda wanted out of the scheme with Persephone. But would Persephone let her go? I hugged Hades' pillow to my chest, lingering in the smell of him in the pillowcase.
When sleep finally did come, it was filled with dreams and nightmares. I dreamt of the car crash.
The lights, blinding lights coming towards me at an impossible speed. And then the lights were out, and I was on the asphalt. Everything hurt.
Warm arms wrapped around me, and I found some semblance of a peaceful sleep.
