Stella
Hades was sleeping when I woke.
It was pitch black outside. I rolled unto my side and gazed at Hades, the moon was shining through the window.
"How do the seasons work down here? The sun and the moon?" I whispered.
Hades opened an eye and looked at me. "Like on Earth. I had it synced."
I snorted. "Of course you did."
"Go back to sleep, it's too early."
I nodded and snuggled into his side, closing my eyes.
For the first time, I came to think of my family I'd left behind. My younger siblings, twins, seven years younger. I missed them. My parents sort of too, though in a different way. And Lisa.
My life may be fucked up on too many levels to count, but I missed the people in it.
Hades wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me close with a sigh.
But right now, being here. It was as if I could be the me I wanted to be. Not a me who was terrified or hurt, but the me I was when I was confident. I enjoyed that me.
