Stella
Hades,
My handwriting is nowhere as neat as Persephone, Zagreus or Macaria's, yet here I am, writing you a letter. In one of the attics there is a small writing station. No letters that I've read, though I know there are a few between your children and yourself.
I know, that when you find this, you won't have been home for long. And I know you won't have found me. It's deliberate.
Hades, last night felt different. It felt as if we connected on a different level than before. I revealed something about myself which I haven't revealed to anyone. Least of all someone I love. Yes, love.
I think I've fallen for you, and the letters I've read inspired me to write you another one.
Granted, I can't avoid mentioning that you tend to do your own thing, often forgetting those around you. But these past few days have been different.
It feels as if you're trying to notice me, notice that you want to be close to someone again. I know you talk to Lucinda, but does it feel the same?
I know there is a lot you don't know about me, and a lot I don't know about you, but I believe time will be the only factor letting us get to know each other. And since I won't have forever down here, at least not this time around, I do believe it to be better not to cross examine one another.
I'm not sure if you even want to hear this, but I know you care. I know Persephone makes you a cold hearted son of a bitch, but you're not. You're just guarded. I wish I understood why.
When you get back I'll be in my own room. Please do not come by tonight. I wish to miss you a little. It always amplifies feelings, and I like that, though I'd never admit to.
Hades, once we do talk, I have something of a rather delicate matter to discuss with you.
Love,
Stella
I looked at the letter again. A part of me felt silly for doing this, another felt way too excited. I knew I didn't really tell him anything, but I still liked that I'd done it. That I'd put my words down on a piece of paper.
The letter was hidden in his bedroom, I put it on his pillow, and then went to the part of the castle, I'd had an odd feeling about.
Lucinda was always wandering to the other side of the castle, and I was curious. I climbed stairs on end and found her room. It was empty, yet a few pieces of clothing lay on the floor.
I shut the door and went to my own room.
Hades would be home soon, and I didn't want to go back against the letter.
I felt giddy that he would read it. And I meant what I'd said. It was incredible what a little missing each other would do. It gave a new dimension to the relationship. A feeling that you could be you while not being around the other person, and it created a longing which I enjoyed. It created that sense of wanting to be near the other.
And I knew Hades was at work all day, but I wanted to be near him and knowing I wouldn't be able to see him. I was weird in that sense, but I didn't care.
