It's funny how the past can change you. One second your mind set is this, the next second your perspective can change. That's exactly what happened when I walked through the doors of Falls High.

At first I was thinking: "Wow, my second boring year of what is supposed to be the greatest years of my life." Or so they say.

But soon I got to thinking: "I can still make the best of it."

It turns out that my first day wasn't that bad. I mean, sure this school has its share of good and bad. But I only realized how bad it was when I looked into the cafeteria at lunch.

This school had everything. The diversity, the variety... Just amazing.

So, let me tell you the social hierarchy of Great Falls.

You've got all the usual social standings that are expected at a high school. Some jocks, cheerleaders, goths, nerds, average kids, loners, etc. You get the gist.

But the funny thing was... I drew so much attention. I mean, I could've had a neon "I'M THE NEW GIRL" sign on my forehead. Seriously, it was ridiculous.

At my old school, I reigned as queen. I had popularity, friends, good grades. The boys wanted me, the girls wanted to be me, and everyone admired me. Which was fine by me. Though even I have to admit, getting all that attention sometimes gets annoying.

Still, everyone seemed nice and friendly. The teachers weren't too bad. In fact, it wasn't really that bad. But I get the feeling that something- no. Someone was missing. From lunch, from the cafeteria, from the school. Someone, or maybe a group of people were missing.

I'm good at picking up on these things. I could tell by the way that everyone was looking around and asking questions. Even though it was the first day, all the students seemed just a little... Overly anxious. Like they were waiting for something. Or someone.

But it's not like me to just start assuming things. I just got here, so what do I know? Maybe it's always like this.

But another part of me knew that something was wrong. Something was off about the way people were talking. The way that they were trying to make it look like they weren't nervous.

But I could tell that they were.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout the whole day I wondered. Throughout all my classes I found myself thinking :

"What's really going on?"

And of course I couldn't just ask. I would have to bide my time, wait it out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as I looked outside at the end of the day, I saw what was missing all day.

Or should I say... who.

There was a crowd, a whole bunch of people by the entrance to the school. Just waiting for the bus home. The unusual thing was: there was a guy at the center.

Yeah, a guy at the center of the crowd. A guy who radiated power and authority. Clearly someone to not be messed with. I knew this from the way the crowd slightly parted away from him. From the way that everyone carefully avoided his eyes.

He seemed like the type of guy who had to be popular in school. He had on expensive clothing. I'm talking real expensive. Like, "I've never been to a Walmart ever in my life" expensive. From head to toes. Now, he wasn't elaborate and showy with it, but anyone could tell that he came from money. And he had this type of glow around him, a type of radiance...

I must've forgotten to not stare. Because he turned and looked at me. Straight at me. I knew that without a doubt, in the second that he looked at me, he knew I was staring.

I thought he would've smirked or something. I thought he would've maybe smiled at me. But no, he fixed me with that same cold glance. And soon everyone noticed.

The students outside looked back and forth, between me and him. Perhaps they were wondering what I had done to catch his attention. They would laugh when they found out I was just staring.

The mysterious guy walked straight out of the crowd, and walked over to me.

I felt like we were having a stare-off. I looked into his deep, brooding eyes.

And then... He spoke.

Alright, so I was just trying to make this interesting without spoiling any details. I was trying to keep it short and to the point. Thank you for reading. I hope you vote and comment. Tell me what you think. :)
