-"Will you at least tell me, how is it that you haven't told me about this mystical Jedi before?", Finn asked the next morning when they've started to pack Falcon for the trip.
-"It is complicated, he wasn't really with me until a year ago. And, Finn, you can't tell anyone about details of this mission, when we come back. Will you swear me this?"
-"I swear, Rey. I won't tell anyone anything, not unless you ask me to.
Rey, you know that I will stand with you. But you too have to remember that you are Resistances hope, even if you want it or not. You will have to be careful because of them too. They look up to you. And if you're not breathing, then soon they'll be losing breath too.."-"Yes, I understand what you want to say. But I don't think that I'm something that's at the centre of this fight anymore. This, what happens now, this is my fight and mine alone. It is not connected to any battles or any missions of Resistance. While we'll be gone I'm sure that Poe will have won many political debates. And that's his fight, but I'm going on completely separate path. And if you have any doubts, if you have any bad thoughts about this, then tell me now and don't get in this ship. Because when I take flight tomorrow morning, I'm not coming back without my soul complete."
-"You now, I don't want to repeat myself, but I'll say it again- I'm going with you! I got a feeling you'll need help."
-"Thank you, Finn, for being a real friend, someone who walks in when rest of the world walks out."
-"That's just how you have chosen it to be. You could have asked help from Poe and Hulle, I think Jonnah also would help you. "
-"Yes, but that's just as you said- I chosen it to be so. This burden is not something a group could carry, I think the best way to approach it is by us two."
Finn nodded his head slowly and continued to bring boxes with supplies. Both of them wanted to be as ready for the flight as much as they could. They weren't sure, for how long they'll be away, so they took portions, clothes and water for a month. Rey brought Jedi texts to the captains quarters, putting them on the table. She slowly touched the backs of the texts and let her breath out.
"Thank you for everything. The Jedi.. Luke, Leia. You have been like family to me. But this is the moment when I choose to go find my missing.. Who is he to me really? Soulmate?
We've been connected for so long time now, but I couldn't really think about us. And all that First Order leader thing wasn't good for us too. But now, when he'll be free.. the Balance, the Light will be back."On the outside Rey tried to keep her confidence and pose at all times. Just like Finn told her- she couldn't loose the touch, people were looking up to her. A Jedi title was quite a burden. But on the inside she didn't have strength to keep going forever. She felt that she was crumbling, that she was drowning, that darkness in her mind stretched further and further. Part of that story, Rey had told Finn. But she knew that he couldn't understand her completely. There was only one man, who could.
The ship was almost ready for the flight. There were still some things to be taken- spare parts and tools, that could be quite useful in the case of accident or crash. So Rey went deeper in the caves for some parts she had stocked for Falcon earlier.
-"Hei, Jedi girl, fancy seeing you here!", Hulle shoted.
-"I'm not that hopeless, it's not that I spend time only here with Falcon", Rey replied sensing the sarcasm.
-"Yeah, yeah, whatever helps you sleep at night. Between that secret Jedi stuff you do and sleeping too little, this is were you can be found. Admit it, you love the ship. Hell, even I fell in love with it, in the first flight."
-"Or maybe you just fell for my piloting."
-"Maybe, but that spinning.. Well girl, someone has to teach you that spinning is not a flying."
-"But it's a great trick, when pirate soldiers are on our tracks."
-"Fair enough. But what are you up to know? It seems that you're going to stuck Falcon full for a lifetime. Another Jedi business?"
-"Yes, a Jedi business." Rey smiled sadly to Hulle.
-"Oh, wow, that serious!? Come now girl, give a hug to your favourite smuggler."
Rey hugged Hulle as tight as she could.
-"Be safe now, Jedi girl! Try not to wreck that ship!"
-"I'll try, Hulle, I will."
Rey carried the last boxes to the ship. And then came down and stopped in front of the ship. "This is it. We're going to do this, girl." She didn't even knew where she had picked up this speaking style to the ship. But it felt more alive now. It had always felt like home but now it felt like another being. Or maybe she was just too lonely and was going crazy in speaking with the metal junk.
Rey thought that flight will be easy. They just needed to get out of the atmosphere, push in the coordinates and wait when they arrive over the Tuell. They didn't need additional trouble. The journey on the planet to get the scrolls will be hard enough, because they weren't really sure how long the cocktail will last until it wears out.
Rey was sad that she couldn't say goodbye to Chewie and Poe. They still weren't back. But she went to Rose and Jonnah and told them to keep the good work and take care of each other. The girls wished Rey safe journey and Rose went to Finn to say her goodbyes.
-"I bet they will separate only in the morning." Jonnah remarked and smiled. -"I thinks it's also time for me to find someone to stick to."
-"You seem to keep up good enough on your own."
-"Yeah. But that's just a mask. I bet you also wear one."
Jonnah couldn't be more right. Rey left for the ship to check on everything before she went to sleep in her chambers.
The night came, but the sleep didn't. She thought she was so sure of this before, but tonight, just hours away from going, the fear started to grow. Rey slept with her eyes open looking into a ceiling.
"I am reckless. Should I really take Finn with me? He doesn't deserve to be brought into this path. But at the same time I know he will be good. He will do his best. The Force is with him now and so am I. Or better yet- he is with me.
I cannot take this burden, this fear of losing my friend with me. Fear is the step to the Dark side, but we are walking in the Light.
To live in the fear is to not live at all..." Rey debated in her mind. She closed her eyes and steadied her breathing, and slowly the sleep came. The moon shone brightly over the peaceful forest and the young Jedi Knight fell into a deep slumber.
