Jade lay in her bed for the rest of the afternoon, thinking of many ways on how to outsmart Chevertson.
Rachel was the least of her problems. If she critically injured Chevertson, or killed him, she'd just have to give Rachel a solid punch and make a run for it.
But how, she didn't know.
A set of headlights flickered through her window and once the car was parked, the engine died.
A door clanged shut and another opened, heavy rushed footsteps going to the kitchen. Jade listened out, for anything, but all she could hear were muffled whispers.
She could hear feet scattering everywhere, cabinets flying open and shutting heavily. Heavy footsteps thudded in her direction.
She quickly scrambled to the bed, pretending she was lying there the whole time as the door swung open to reveal Cheverston.
Without saying a word, he grabbed her roughly, rolled up her sleeve and jabbed a needle into her forearm.
Perplexed and now dazed, Jade began to sway as she stood up. She landed on the floor with a heavy thud and before she passed out, she heard Cheverston say in a rather enthusiastic voice; "Bring him in."

Robertson awoke with a groan. His head was banging, his body in pain after the blast. He adjusted to the dim light that hung above his head.
Once his dizzy spell had passed, he saw Cheverston, staring at him, smug as a cat. Robertson went to strangle him but was forced down by restraints.
He was chained and tied down to a chair. Even if he did cut the rope around him, he'd have to find a paper clip to undo the handcuffs.
To his left, was Jade, who was only coming around. Something within him finally lifted and he no longer felt as if he was been dragged down anymore.
She was alive.
Jade looked around the room, and spotted Robertson. Her eyes lit up and she cried out. "Dad!"
"Jade!" He croaked.
"It's alright," he promised her. "I'll get us out of here."
Chevertson laughed. "That's not a promise you can keep, Ryan."
Robertson turned away from Jade and gave Cheverston a look of thunder. "I'm going to fucking kill you!"
Cheverston waved his gun. "Not tied to the chair."
Cheverston approached him, and patted him on the shoulder. "I've been longing to do this for a while."
Before Robertson could register on what he meant, he got a hard right hook to the jaw. His head flung to the side, blood forming in his mouth.
He spat on the concrete floor. Cheverston swung his fists widely, beating the crap into Robertson.
He eventually stepped back, taken in heavy deep breaths. Robertson's nose was broken and his ribs were more than likely bruised.
"You're such a prick." Robertson wheezed.
Chevertson grabbed a pole that nestled against the wall and gave him a hard whack against his ribcage. Robertson let out a yelp.
He got a last blow and Cheverston dropped the pole. Robertson was in agony but he wasn't going to give in and show Cheverston any satisfaction.
Chevertson smirked at him. "I think it's time for you to meet my new partner." He whispered into his ear. "You'll love her."
