Chapter Twenty
From where I'm from, it never snows. What if I do something crazy like flying to another country to see snow? I mean, today is worth celebrating considering how it has been twenty days since I know I'm about to die and how I have not given up on my list yet. Today, I am going to buy a ticket to South Korea.
I scroll through my phone while lying on my bed searching for a flight to Korea today. There's one at 7pm. Having the Asian genes in me, it means that I have to be at the airport at 4pm. Which means I have to leave my loft at 3pm to avoid traffic. Judging at how slow I pack my luggage, I have to start at 12pm. I still need another hour to eat and another hour to shower and get ready. I look at my clock and its only 8am. More than enough time.
I select the flight and choose tomorrow as my return date. I can't go to Korea for too long. I still have to rush home and water Bean. The only available tickets are first-class tickets. It is way more expensive than what I usually pay for a ticket.
"Hell yeah! I'm doing this the first-class way and the first-class way only!"
"..."
"I would bring you, Bean. But I think potted plants are prohibited. Sorry."
"..."
I quickly eat brunch, get ready and start packing. I pull out boxes and boxes of winter wear and squeeze as much as I can in my luggage. After a few moments, it was already 3pm. I lock all my window and doors and get in a cab. Off I go!
Because I had first-class tickets, I was able to use the VIP lounge. It was my fantasy to enter the lounge. Since I usually fly economy or business class at best during business trips, the lounge is 'forbidden'.
After spamming tons of selfies in the lounge and sending it to my mum, an airline crew came to escort me to the boarding gate. The first-class seat is nothing like what I've imagined. There's a small desk, a foldable bed, an armchair and television. There are even free Wi-Fi and free flow champagne! It is honestly big enough to be a kid's bedroom. I was moving around gasping and shouting like a country girl entering the big city for the first time.
"Dear ma'am, please lower your volume. There are other passengers resting right now."
"I'm sorry!"
Embarrassed, I quickly settle down and sat in the armchair with my seatbelt safely fasten. An announcement is made and the captain starts talking.
"This is your captain speaking, it is about 6.50pm and we are about to take flight to Korea."
I look out the window and see the sunset. I sip on my champagne and close my eyes. In just a few hours, I'm going to see snow.
