Fate or Fatal?

Wake up call

Ian had been talking to the police all afternoon, and staying by Ninas side. there hadn't been any improvement in her condition. she hadn't woke up yet. He sat with her and held her hand, just as sure she had done while he was in his coma, praying that she woke up, he needed her to for his sake and Nianas. He couldn't get the picture out of his head of her sitting there tied up to that chair, and all the blood, there was so much blood. he had seen it a hundred times her on set covered in blood and tied to chairs etc, but never had he ever thought he would experience that in real life. Paul came to the door and startled him out of his thoughts.
"Any change?"
"No, her vitals are a little stronger, but that's all." Ian replied quietly.
"She will be ok Ian." Paul tried to reassure ian.
"God I hope so, Niana needs her mommy." Ian spoke quietly.
"Speaking of Niana, Kat has her this afternoon so that Ninas parents and brother can come up to the hospital."
" I want her here, I need to see my daughter, can you please ask Kat to bring her up today?"
"For sure Ian. hey listen why don't you go home and get some rest and have a shower man, you look exhausted."
"I can't leave her, not now, I don't know what made me think I could in the first place. maybe if I had been there....." Ian trailed off.
"Ian, don't do that, you can't blame yourself, if you were there, that means Niana would have been there and this could have been a whole lot worse."
"Ya I guess, the cops said they don't have any leads until Nina wakes up.... if she wakes up."
"She will. Go have a shower at least man, I went to your hotel room and got you some clothes, there is a shower down the hall that you can use."
"Thanks man, will you sit with her please?"
"Ya of course." Paul said as Ian took another look at Nina before leaving the room.
"Oh Nina, you have to be ok, and come back to us for Ian's and Nianas sake, they need you. I don't care what the paternity test says, Ian is your fiancée and he loves you sooo much, and Niana loves him and needs her daddy. I honestly was just being selfish and cruel, I knew in my heart even if Niana was mine, you could never love me the way you love him. I see that now as I see him sitting by your bed, so worried that you will die on him. he needs you to wake up so please nina, wake up."
"Feeling a bit of guilt now are we?" Candice stood at the door with her arms crossed.
"Candice... Dont."
"Don't what? Acknowledge the fact that you intentionally tried to split Ian and Nina up?"
"You have no idea what your talking about."
"If you were smart you would go to the police and tell them that you set this all up..." Candice said coldly.
"Just go Candice... or better yet you stay, I will go."
With that Paul walked out of the room and straight into Kat who held Niana.
"What is she talking about Paul??"
"Nothing just making accusations on things that aren't true." he said and walked away.

Ian was sleeping in the chair next to Ninas bed when the detective walked in.
"Mr. Somerhalder." he woke Ian up.
"Oh hello detective, sorry I was just getting a little bit of shut eye."
"No problem Ian, I just have a couple of questions for you... we received a tip that someone close to you was involved with Nianas kidnapping and the attack on Nina, do you know a Klarissa Smith?"
"She was my personal assistant before my accident a few months ago, what does she have to do with this?"
"We have reason to believe that she was in love with you, and that she was the one who kidnapped Niana and attacked Nina."
"Oh my god, ummm so do you know her whereabouts?"
"Not as of yet but we have reason to believe she changed her appearance which is why Nina may not recognize her."
"So what can we do?"
"Well unfortunately that's not the only news we received on this tip.. we also have Paul Wesley in custody as an accomplice to the kidnapping and possibly the attack."
"No no I mean I am not on the best of terms with him right now, but what reason would he have to stage a kidnapping on my daughter??"
" We have reason to believe that he was trying to get between you and Nina as he thought Niana was his daughter."
"Wow ok so ummm how long before we know? And until then are you keeping him in custody?"
"Yes he will remain in custody until we know and police officers will be posted outside this hospital room for Ninas protection as well."
"What about Niana?"
" Well we can have a bodyguard set up to be with you or around Niana at all times."
"Ok good, well thanks for the update officer, but I really do hope Paul is cleared."
" Try to stay positive Ian, we will be coming back to question Nina as soon as she is awake and up to it." with that the officer walked away.
Ian was in total shock, how could Paul have possibly been involved. he was his brother, his best friend. he couldn't wrap his head around it. he had to go out and speak to everyone.

"Are you fucking kidding me??!!" Was the response Ian got from Ninas family and their cast mates.
It has been so hard to tell everyone that there was a possibility that Paul was involved with the kidnapping and the attack on Nina.

Ninas POV

I woke up ad my head hurt so bad, the pain radiated to my eyes making it hard to focus, I am in the hospital, or I am dead. I looked over to the side of my bed and Ian was sleeping in the chair.
"Ian." I managed to get out.
He jumped up and called the nurse.
" I am here baby." he said as he kissed my cheek and stroked my hair.
" I remember what happened."
"Oh baby, I am so sorry I left, I promise you, I will never leave you again, I should have been there." Ian blurted out while he stroked my hair and kissed my hands.
"It's ok baby, it's not your fault that some psycho bitch broke into our house."
"Oh there is so much to tell you nina, it's going to shock you and make you sad but we will wait til the doctor checks you out first."

I was sitting back listening to Ian tell me everything. I listened in disbelief of what I am hearing, how could Paul be responsible for all this. I mean I could believe it with Klarissa, I never thought that Paul could do this to me. how could he allow me to be attacked and almost killed...
"Nina.. are you ok?" Ian was staring at me with concern.
"Yes just trying to wrap my head around all this."
" I know, it's a lot to take in, but it's important that you know."
"Ian.... "
" I know..." he said
He held my hand and kissed it.
" I am so sorry for everything Ian, I love you and I can't live without you my love, I know I hurt you but I promise I will never hurt you again my love, can you please come home?"
" Ones step at a time Nina, I do love you and I will come home, I will never leave your side again, but we have a long road ahead of us."
"I understand Ian, I know I messed up bad, but I promise if it takes the rest of my life, I will gain your trust again, and I will prove to you that I will never hurt you again."
He leaned in an kissed me, I had waited to feel his lips on mine. It felt like home, safe and secure. I vowed to myself at that moment that I would never hurt this man again.
