In Time

Chapter 75

The sun was hiding behind the clouds the next morning which illuminated slightly grey sky. This kind of weather would always get Clarisse to get back to her slumber, but this time, it was different.

Her eyes were vibrant. She looked at the familiar ceiling and smelled the familiar scent which always gave her the feeling of security.

She turned her face to look at his gentle face, for a very long time. Suddenly, the man leaned forward and stole a peck. "Good morning, Key."

"..."

Upon getting no response, he opened his eyes to find the woman's cold face. He then realized that the photos had caused so many unnecessary thoughts in her small brain. He tightened the embrace and whispered "They were all taken without my consent. We really had never kissed or did anything intimate before."

Regina had been his first love, but he trully had never had the urge to do intimate stuff with her. He could still control his desire, or it should be said he had been very good in it. Not until he met Clarisse that he experienced what fear, worry, anxiety, and driven crazy felt like.

Clarisse pushed him to make a distance. "I know."

Her answer relieved him. He caressed her head and smiled like a fool. "Thank you for trusting me."

It was the best moment when the person that you loved trusted you no matter what happened.

"But, I don't trust myself."

It stunned him very much.

"I can trust you because she was your past, but how many women out there who want to be yours ? In the future, how many times will I feel the fear of you leaving me ?"

"I will never leave you."

"How long will you be so understanding of my insecurity ?"

"Forever."

She didn't listen to any of his promises because she knew that the problem was not him, but her. Her insecurity was too much. She finally recovered from her depression after being abandoned twice. To think of her being abandoned again, it scared her too much.

She almost turned crazy when she couldn't find him in the room. She cried  so much when she saw the photos. What would she be if he really left her ? Would she be strong enough to stand on her feet, again?

She knew she was egoistic, but she needed to find a leeway to suvive.

"Should we reconsider our..."

She didn't get to finish her words when her lips were devoured completely.

Kevin didn't give her the chance to finish her words since he knew what she was going to say.

After feeling that she was out breath that he released her. "I'll prepare breakfast." He immediately left the room.

Clarisse could only sigh. She got up and made the bed before going to wash up. After showering, she came out to find the man was talking on the phone.

She walked closer and sat in front of him. She heard the conversation faintly and she caught that he had to fly back to J city to attend a meeting with Mr Tatsuya.

She also knew that this meeting was a very important meeting for Aloha Corporation to expand its wings to the land of the rising sun.

"After breakfast, we'll head to the airport.",Kevin said as soon as he hung up.

"Let me cool down for several days here." Clarisse knew that she really needed time to cool down, she really needed time to think rationally.

Kevin didn't answer her. He picked up his phone and dialed a string of numbers. "Cancel the meeting."

Not only Clarisse but also Louis who was on the other side was utterly speechless. No one knew better than them how much Kevin worked for this meeting.

However, Kevin would always put Clarisse as his priority. Leaving her alone would lead her to overthinking which would make her resolute with severing all ties.
