Chapter 52

"So, tell me the whole story"

Clarisse was summoned by her busybody bestfriend, Sherly, who dragged her out of the bed early in the morning. Clarisse was supposed to take a nap after jogging and breakfast since she was too tired the past few days. Who knew Sherly who just arrived in J city came straight to her door as soon as she touched down.

"Let's order the food first, okay? Didn't you say you are VERY hungry?"

Sherly forced her out with VERY hungry face which made Clarisse had no way to say no, but accompanied her to their usual hang out place.

"Hello! Like usual, 2 portions"

Sherly immediately ordered when she saw the manager of the cafe walked toward them. She was the VIP there which was not a shocking news for the manager to know her usual order.

"So, how could you ? And him ? Who confessed first? Did he buy you stuff like flower, necklace, or perhaps flower?"

She leaned her face on her hands showing her enthusiastic spirit. Clarisse helplessly recounted the whole story from her dispute with Stella, then her resignation to her being "kidnapped" by Kevin.

"So, you agreed to marry him?"

Clarisse blushed to hear "marry" word.

"I don't think I can marry others, except him"

Sherly nodded. "He is after all the most perfect man that I've ever met."

"Aren't you afraid of Alvin hearing you complimenting other man?"

"Alvin? He won't mind. After all, it's the truth that big boss wins in all aspects compare to Alvin."

Clarisse couldn't deny that part. Her Kevin was absolutely better than Alvin.

"Except one."

Sherly said before taking a sip from her cookies and cream.

"Too overbearing. Do you know that I've always felt a sense of fear around him?"

"Hmm.. he is overbearing for sure."

"I'm happy for you guys. You guys are really match-made from heaven."

"Hope so"

"Definitely are"

"Okay, don't talk about me. How was your trip to Ireland."

"So so"

"What? It's in my bucket list and you say so so?"

"Can't go shopping"

For Sherly, shopping was very essential to her life. So, a place where she couldn't go shopping would be like hell. Hearing her say it was so so, it meant that it was actually a nice place.

They caught up with each other's stories for the whole day which caused them to leave the cafe at around four. Approximately 6 hours in the cafe, chatting. Girls will always be girls.

It was already 8 p.m when Clarisse arrived home. She went to take a bath and changed into her silk pajamas. She then took out a novel to help her sleep. In the middle of reading, her phone suddenly rang. She looked at the screen and smiled to see the caller's ID.

"Hello?"

"Not sleeping yet?"

"Soon", she looked at the clock and it was around 10 p.m. "Just woke up?"

Kevin was currently in a business trip in New York, thus thinking of the time difference, Clarisse asked that question.

"Emm"

"You have worked hard, when you come back let this big sister treat you a lunch."

He chuckled listening to her calling herself "big sister".

"Then, don't be late tomorrow."

"Tomorrow? Are you coming back tomorrow? Don't tell me you are in plane."

"No.. I've arranged so you will come to New York tomorrow."

"What?"

"There are several issues that need to be handled,thus I can't come back on time as I promised. The driver will pick you up at 8 a.m."

"We will have a meeting tomorrow."

"Business trip."

"Hey, you are mis-using your authority", she complained.

He chuckled. "It's called as privilege"

That was how Clarisse ended up sitting in the private jet flying to New York on the very next day.

When she arrived, Kevin had cleared his schedule to pick her up from the airport. He immediately walked to her side and hugged her tightly as soon as he saw her.

"Are you tired ?", he asked as he breathed in her unique scent.

She shook her head.

"Let's go home.", he held her hand firmly and walked out from the airport.
