Chapter 71

Clarisse followed Karin and Kelly to their room. Kelly slept in the same room as Karin because Karin didn't want to sleep alone. Upon returning to the room, Clarisse helped Kelly to change into her pajamas before accompanying her to sleep.

As for Karin, she took a chance to call Kevin when she was in the bathroom. "Bro, what had happened between you and sis-in-law?"

Kevin frowned. He clearly saw she was sleeping deeply before he left. "Clarisse?"

Karin then narrated the incindent.

"Okay. I got it. I'm coming."

Kevin strode to Karin's room and there he saw the woman was sleeping beside the little angel.

"They had just slept.", Karin explained.

He didn't think twice to carry Clarisse back to their room. He somehow felt that something was amissed. 'What made her run around barefeet? Could she have seen ?'

He placed her on his bed upon returning. He went to the bathroom to take a warm towel. Her feet were both dirty and scratched. He slowly cleaned them up before laying on his side scooping the woman into his embrace.

He had to explain about Regina or else he didn't dare to imagine what her small head would make story of them.

He kissed her forehead for a long time. He tried to calm himself with the kiss. He was really afraid that this incidence might make her leave him, forever. After all, he knew that she had a traumatic experience about being abandoned which made her build walls all over her and locked her inside, never letting anyone to come closer to her. Her insecurity was the homework that he had been working on, yet this matter might lose her trust in him.

He couldn't imagine how he would be if Clarisse left him. Though he had expereinced being left, it was different between Regina and Clarisse. He was disappointed toward Regina, but for Clarisse, he didn't think that he could still be sane if she did so.

As for Clarisse, she pretended to sleep since she didn't know how she should face him. She wanted to ask him, but she was afraid of his answer. She wanted to clear things, but she was afraid of him leaving. Thus, pretending that she knew nothing was the best. At least for the night because he had seen her appearance and he might sense something was wrong.It was such a restless night for both of them.

The next morning, they woke up early and didn't talk much as Clarisse was appointed to be one of Kaylee's bridemaids. She was busy since morning and she almost didn't bump into Kevin for the whole day, except their silent morning.

The matrimony was held in the morning, while the reception was held in the evening. For the reception, Clarisse wore a red velvet long dress that hugged her body perfectly from Noble. She exudes the sexy aura that atttacted both men and women. Her hair was tied into a messy bun. She put on a light make-up.

She sat in the same table with the directors from the company. They were all invited as they were co-workers of Kaylee.

"Hey..hey..look at the girl.", one of her fussy co-workers tapped her arms when she was eating.

She lifted up her head to the pointed direction. She saw a woman in silver long dress which was showing her sexy bare back "That's dr Regina. She's a very talented doctor. I heard that she is one of the top five neurologists. She married a mafia prince of Japan, yet I heard they just got divorced."

Upon hearing the 'divorced' word, she clenched her grip on the spoon that she was holding. The woman that was called Regina was the woman who hugged her man the night before. How could she still be calm?

"There was rumor that she was someone that big boss wanted to marry. I wonder how regretful she feels right now."

'The woman that he wanted to marry.'

That phrase kept on playing in her mind again and again.
