Chapter 51

"Omkara ji, please listen na." Gauri said running behind Omkara as he walked in long strides.

"No, I won't listen, I am hurt." Omkara said without turning back.

"Omkara ji, I am sorry." Gauri begged from behind.

"The damage you caused to my heart can't be forgotten with just sorry." Omkara said walking away.

"Omkara ji... "

"No."

"Suno na."

"I won't listen."

"Please... "

He shook his head and walked away.

"Fine, I will go back to Bareilly." Gauri said feigning a sad voice.

"What, no! " Omkara said immediately turning around to face Gauri.

"Why? " Gauri asked stifling a smile.

"I survived three days without you, I can't stay away from you anymore. Please don't leave me again. " Omkara admitted honesty making Gauri smile widely.

"But don't forget I am still angry on you." Omkara said folding his arms across his chest strictly.

"I am sorry." Gauri said cutely holding her ears, "Can't you forgive your Chiraiyya."

"You know, how to convince me. Now come and give me a hug, I can't stay away from you any more." Omkara said opening his arms widely for Gauri.

Gauri immediately ran towards Omkara and hugged him tight wrapping her arms around his waist and placing her cheek against his chest.

"You can't imagine how I missed having you in my arms." Omkara mumbled kissing her hairs inhaling her soothing scent.

Getting no reply from Gauri, he took a step back only to realize Gauri fainted in his arms.

"Gauri... Jaan.. What happened?" Omkara said frantically patting Gauri's cheeks. "See, if you are trying to scare me, it's working now open your eyes."

Gauri remind unconscious in Omkara's arms making his heart thud against his chest.

"God, Gauri, you are burning." Omkara panicked as he felt her skin burning with fever.

"Gauri, please open your eyes... Please." Omkara said shaking Gauri with tears pooling in his eyes.

"Omkara ji. " Gauri mumbled.

"Jaan, I am taking you home." Omkara said lifting Gauri.

He immediately took her in his arms and carried her towards his car in bridal style and buckled her in the passenger seat as he ran towards the driver seat and sped towards OM.

"O my mata! Omkara, what happened to Gauri? " Pinky asked panicked seeing Omkara enter OM carrying an unconscious Gauri in his arms.

"Chotimaa, she's having high fever and fainted. I informed our doctor already, please send him to my room." Omkara said and walked towards his room hurriedly with Gauri in his arms.

Omkara placed Gauri in the middle of their bed delicately like she was a glass doll and covered her with the duvet after removing her sandals. Soon the doctor came inside their room after knocking the door.

"Doctor, she's having high fever and fainted." Omkara informed the doctor.

"Well, let me check her,Mr.Oberoi." The doctor said smiling.

"What happened, Doctor? Will she be okay? " Omkara bombarded the doctor with questions.

"Mr.Oberoi, She's having fever which is obvious and due to stress and weakness, she fainted. Nothing to worry, I gave her injection and prescribed few tablets. She will be conscious soon and then you can give her some light food." Doctor said and moved out of their room.

When Gauri woke up, she looked around and found Omkara making a sculpture silently sitting on the stool in the corner of their room wearing spectacles looking handsome as ever in his artistic form. She turned fully to her right looking at her husband lovingly.

"It's not a good manners to stare at people." Omkara said without taking off his eyes from the statue.

"I am not staring." Gauri defended herself sitting on the bed.

"Whatever floats your boat." Omkara said wiping his hands with a napkin.

"How did I reached home? " Gauri asked looking around.

"I carried you home since you fainted due to the fever." Omkara said placing a tray full of food in front of Gauri.

"Eat this food and take those tablets, that doctor prescribed for your fever and weakness." Omkara said non-chalantly and sat on the chair beside the bed.

"I am fine, I don't need these tablets, I will be fine with a cup of tea and good sleep." Gauri said making a face looking at the tablets.

"Gauri, doctor said you should take proper food and medicines. Now eat that food without making excuses." Omkara said strictly in a serious tone.

"Why's he behaving like Nandi." Gauri muttered inaudibly as she continued eating the bread and soup making faces while Omkara sat there looking at her with a straight face.

"Finished." Gauri said pushing the plate away after she completed her food.

"Tablets." He said giving tablets and water to her.

She pouted looking at the tablets and he glared at her.

"Fine." Gauri said taking the tablets and popping them in her mouth.

"Sleep." Omkara said taking the glass from Gauri.

"But I just woke up now! " Gauri exclaimed.

"You need rest." Omkara stated. "Sleep." He said pulling the duvet over her.

"Omkaraji." Gauri called him tugging at his shirt.

"What? " He asked seriously.

"Are you angry? " Gauri asked softly holding his hand.

"Why do you care?" Omkara asked pulling away his hand from her hold.

"Because your anger is being directed on me." Gauri pointed out the obvious.

"Wow! At least you realised that." Omkara said bemused.

"Why are you behaving like Nandi bail now? What did I do to deserve this silent treatment from you? " Gauri asked annoyed.

"You are asking me why!" Omkara asked exasperated, "First thing you are having fever and you didn't think it's necessary to inform me and then you dare to travel in train alone when you are not feeling well and do you know how scared I was when you fainted in my arms? It felt like my heart stopped beating. And now you are asking me why I am angry! " Omkara shouted throwing his hands up in air.

"I am sorry for scaring you." Gauri said remorsefuly. "I thought you will be worried unneccesarily if I tell you about my fever."

"Please forgive me, I am sorry." Gauri said holding her ears showing puppy eyes.

"Sleep, Gauri." Omkara said unaffected, "Call me if you need anything." He said turning around facing his back to her.

"Omkaraji... Please... I said sorry na." Gauri said to Omkara walking on her knees on the bed trying to move near Omkara.

"Sleep, Gauri. I don't want to fight with you now." He said walking away from the bed.
