(...Well, this is it. The LAST day of the Brakey 30 Day OTP challenge. It's been great.)

Jake gulped audibly. Mitch turned around to look at him.

"You ok?"

"You're asking me that now?"

Mitch sighed. "I know it's gonna be scary. But you're the only one who can talk to him. It's gotta be you."

Jake swallowed, but, hands shaking, he opened the metal door in front of him.

Bryan, at first, looked normal. He sat alone at the stone table, fingers interlaced. His wings, clothes, hair, and knockout good looks were all the same. His eyes, however...were mad.

"Hello, Jakey~Poo. It's been so long. 6 years?"

"7, last I counted."

"Quite the sum. How's life as ruler of the oceans treating you?"

"Enough small talk. You know why I'm here."

Bryan sighed. "Indeed, I do."

"Bryan, just take it. Take the medication. If you do, you'll be released, forgiven by the gods for your crimes, free of this madness. We can be together again. Doesn't that sound better than rotting in a jail cell for the rest of your life?"

"Why would I want to leave? I have everything I need: books, food, water, a reasonably comfortable bed. I wouldn't leave for the world."

Jake sighed and shook his head. "The doctors said you'd be more reasonable."

"I am being reasonable, Jakey."

"Then my work here is done."

Jake stood up and started for the door.

"Jakey, have you kept your vow?"

Jake turned around to look at his former lover. "Vow?"

"Just before I was taken here, you vowed to never marry unless it was my hand. You vowed never to love someone as deeply as you loved me. Have you kept that vow?"

Jake was silent at first. Then, he answered solemnly, "Yes. Many have tried to win my hand in marriage, but none have succeeded. You remain the only one to win my heart."

"Excellent. You can go, now."

Bryan kissed his cheek and let him leave.

When he got outside again, Mitch immediately demanded, "Well? Did you get him to take it?"

Jake shook his head no. "He was unreasonable. Again."

Mitch facepalmed. "Then, what do we do? You were our last resort. We tried Xylo, Mario, Brandeen, Daveed, Bri, everyone! If you can't convince him, no one can!"

Jake sat down. "Then...I don't think we can fix him. We can't force the medications on him, it'll never work. The Seductive Rose really had an impact on his mentality. If I can't get him to take it, then...he'll have to stay insane. Forever."

"I thought Poseidon's children weren't quitters!"

"This isn't quitting. It's our only option."

Mitch sighed. "Then...I guess we go home."

The two brothers stood up and left the hospital in silence and sadness from losing their friend.
