[1st POV - You]

"The Roiquoi, sir?" I inquired with an evidently puzzled look on my face. The male nodded his blonde head with a serious glance. It only seemed to darken as he recalled the memory faintly.

"Yes. Your people arrived, similarly like your party, and before they were able to explore the creature appeared." He glanced away briefly, regaining himself from the memory. "They... were defenseless from the fiend. We fight to survive daily against the Roiqoui, but have lost many of our own to them." He exhaled deeply as he explained their struggles. I slowly nodded my head in understanding as the male was straight forward when it came to telling us what happened to the other officers, but he did not describe the creature that had killed said officers. I glanced back to Captain Kirk to assess his status.

It was as I expected. Captain Kirk was frustrated and angered that his men and women were sent to an unknown land and easily annihilated. I returned my focus to the male before me and was startled to find him inches closer to me. His bright hazel eyes focused intensely into mine, searching them for whatever his soul desired. I stepped back in shock, but my eyes never broke contact with him. I was unable to move any further than a step and found my heart rate speeding unnaturally. My face became flushed with what I had assumed to be confusion, but the grip of Lieutenant Matthews, one of the male security members, snapped my focus free. I cleared my throat and stood straight again.

"I believe it would be best if I spoke with your priestess... mister.." I quickly stumbled over my words, hiding my eyes from his.

"Z'ton, please. Call me Z'ton." The dangerously charming male smiled at me as he introduced himself and stood straight himself. "Follow me, this way, please." He turned and began to walk with the rest of his companions behind him, not once glancing back to ensure we would follow him.

I nodded my head and glanced at Kirk, Mr. Spock and the rest of my party whose appearances changed due to my misconduct. "Lieutenant (Y/LN), please lead the way for us. Matthews, you are to keep watch over Lieutenant (Y/LN) and make certain she does not go anywhere alone." Captain Kirk barked his commands quietly as we began to follow the natives before losing sight of them.

Once we had caught up with the small group, we were quickly swallowed by the evergrowing brushes of trees, vines, rocks and other plants that grew in excess here. It was no wonder people went missing here, it was a jungle. I found myself dazing back to only a few moments before. Why had this man placed himself so close to me and stared into my eyes with such intensity? It left me befuddled and confused, even until now. No man had ever stared at me with such intrigue or intensity before.

It felt nice being acknowledged...

Before I could stop myself my mouth began to curve into a shy smile and a giggle escaped my throat. Images of happiness filled my mind, leaving me to forget about my current surroundings and those near me.

[1st POV - Captain Kirk]

Lieutenant (Y/L/N) was walking strangely after these underclothed monkies began to lead us to their Chief Priestess. Z'ton had overstepped a boundary with one of my officers. I wasn't too concerned at first as I know all my officers under my command are trained to be physically capable of defending themself in any situation, but seeing how Lieutenant (Y/L/N) did not react immediately to Z'ton's advances as expected I am forced to place one of my two security men to keep close eye on her.

I had a good instinct to do so as she began to wobble on her feet as we trekked through the overgrown garden and I believe I heard her giggle. Before we began to follow Z'ton and his men, I took notice of how the Lieutenant adverted her eyes from not only I but all my male officers with me as well as Z'ton. She was red in the face and her hands quivered as she held tightly onto her uniform. Now, my concerns began to grow as there was a mysterious beast known as the Roiquoi on the loose. Not only were we on a planet with a culture far too understudied and unknown, but we were on a planet where only women's opinions were valued as truth and factual logic. This forced my men and myself to be silent, our fate in the hands of the only female, Lieutenant (Y/L/N).
