Zach's p.o.v.

Jack had just gone home after the game had ended. I told him I was going to sleep early and that I'd talk to him tomorrow, but the truth was that I was waiting for Daniel. What if he didn't come?

I pushed that thought away, looking up at the ceiling instead, until a voice caught my attention. "What you thinking about?"

I sat up to meet Daniel's cold blue eyes. "You" I responded, pulling on the sleeves of my hoodie. Daniel smiled, folding his arms. "As it should be."

I groaned, falling back down on my bed. "Are you really gonna be like that? We've talked about this, Daniel" I argued.

"Talked about what? The fact that Jack is taking you away from me, or the fact that you're letting him?" Daniel bitterly bit back. I stayed silent. "I know you like Jack" Daniel accused with a menacing tone in his voice.

"Why are you doing this-" I began, but Daniel cut me off. "Because you're mine, Zach. You belong with me. You're mine forever, remember?"

I bit down hard on my bottom lip. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled, fighting back tears. "You know what to do, Zach. Be a good boy" Daniel patronised. I looked over to the notebook that sat on my bedside table. Picking it up, I grabbed the pen beside it firmly in my hands.

I flicked to the next clear page and began to write. "I'm sorry that I like Jack. I disobeyed you. Another reason why I should kill myself to be with you" I wrote, slamming the book shut.

Daniel grinned an unsettling smile. "There aren't many pages left, Zach. When that notebook fills up, you'll be with me forever" he cooed. I glared up at him.

"Why are you doing this, Daniel? This isn't like you" I whimpered. Daniel's eyes pierced through me. "Because we need to be together, Zach. We're going to be together and no one can stop me from taking you" he growled. The look in his eyes sent fear through me, and that's when I realised.
Daniel had never used to make me feel this way. This wasn't my Daniel.

"You're not the Daniel I used to know" I muttered, turning away from him. "Was I the Daniel you used to know when I gave my life for you?" He questioned. I felt tears begin to well up in my eyes. "If you gave your life so that I could have mine, why do you now want me dead?" I quietly questioned, trying to keep control in my voice. Daniel stumbled over his words, lost in what to say.

"Get out" I quietly commanded. Daniel shook his head, refusing. "You're not the Daniel I used to know. He would never be as cruel as you. He loved me and he'd want me to be happy" I seethed. "So as I said, get out" I commanded, raising my voice.

Daniel began to breathe heavily, anger rising within him. "Kill yourself, Zach. Come be with me and you'll be better."

I looked over at him with hatred. "You're not real, Daniel! You're some sort of thing I've created in my mind to stop myself from moving on. But I have to move on, Daniel. You're never coming back!" I yelled at him.

"You're making a mistake, Zach. You still love me - I know you do!" Daniel yelled at me. I glared at him dead in the eye. "I never want to see you again. Don't ever come back" I growled, turning away from him.

I couldn't bear look at him any longer. I stayed looking away from him until a long silence had fallen, at which I peered over my shoulder. Daniel was gone.

At that moment realisation had began to kick in. I had just told Daniel to leave and never come back, but deep down I knew I still needed him.

What have I done?
