Zach's p.o.v.
"Great" Jack replied, a wide smile on his face. Oh no, he was going to kill me, wasn't he? Jack's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Well, come on then Zach" Jack demanded, grabbing my wrist and pulling me along. "Huh? What do you mean?" I questioned, confused. I tried to regain balance, stumbling over my steps from Jack so abruptly pulling me along.
"You're coming with me. There's no way we're staying in this hell hole a second longer." He announced. With determination, he forcefully pushed open the doors at the entrance of the school.
He began walking towards the parking lot until he suddenly turned around to pause and face me. "I don't have a car." Jack blurted out of nowhere. "Me neither" I admitted. Jack simply shrugged, nodding his head. "We'll just have to walk then" he said out loud, although it sounded like he was speaking to himself more than to me.
"Well, I don't exactly mean to burst your bubble but I never actually agreed to this kidnapping. Some of us actually have an education to get to" I said, turning on my heel to make my way back into school.
"That's a lie" Jack retorted, snorting. "We have maths next, and I know for a FACT you always make a point to never listen to the teacher. You always do independent work, meaning you could just as easily do it at home!" He argued, folding his arms over.
I turned to him. "How do you know that?" I asked skeptically. Jack stayed silent, a shade of red crossing over his face. An amused smirk began to form on my lips.
"Oh, I see, Mr. Avery. You've been watching me!" I teased. Jack rolled his eyes. "Well I don't need you around if you're here to make fun of me" he murmured. "Are you coming or not?"
I thought it over for a moment. "You want the real reason why I'm not coming?"
Jack nodded. "I don't want to walk there. I'm tired." I whined. "Trust me, I would've loved to accompany you to the crack house where you would have murdered me and hid my body, but sadly my low stamina and wea-"
My rant was cut off by Jack huffing. He approached me and wrapped his hands around my waist. Before I knew what was going on he lifted me up and flung me over his shoulder. "Come on then, we best be on our way."
I stared down at him in disbelief. Had this boy really just flung me over his shoulder like a towel and decided to haul me down the street? I mean, you gotta admire the dedication.
"Alright then Avery. I'll allow it this once - but make sure when they find my body I look presentable" I joked.
"For fucks sake Zach I'm not planning on murdering you, but I'll start to consider it if you don't stop making jokes about your delusions of me hiding your body in a crack house" he groaned.I stifled a laugh. "Point taken" I mumbled. "You know, you're a very forward person. It's not every day someone sweeps you off your feet in the literal sense." I thought out loud, pondering upon Jack's odd nature.
"And it's not every day you get to carry a person as cool as you on your shoulder. You've got to take the chances you can get, Zach."
I peered down to see a smile on Jack's face, and returned it with a smile of my own. For once it wasn't forced, or fabricated - I had genuinely momentarily experienced a short feeling of happiness.
