It had been three days since I had left Corbyn's house. I hadn't returned his calls and I'd avoided him in school. I still needed more time to process what he'd told me.

"... it was awful really - no one deserves to die like that. And Zach - loosing the love of his life so soon in that way... of course it was hard for him. No one thinks he ever really recovered. Of course after Daniel- after he... well, y'know. No one brought it up anymore. They saw the damage of what they were doing. But it didn't stop them from judging Zach. Maybe that's why he won't let anyone in anymore. No one knows what happened to him after Daniel's passing. It's like he turned off. No.."

"It's like he died with Daniel."

I sighed, grabbing my school bag. I was going to be late if I just sat here thinking about what happened. But something wouldn't let me forget. I replayed every detail of Zach I'd learnt.

"Corbyn, I can see it in your eyes. You still know more than you're telling me. Stop with all the lies!!" Corbyn stayed silent, folding his arms. "I don't know what you're on about. I've told you the story - the one that everyone knows!" He protested. I lowered my voice. "But you didn't tell me the one you know."

And he still hasn't. I got mad, he got mad, and I left. Which wasn't right of me. I just couldn't stop myself. I was desperate to figure Zach out. I wanted to know everything I could.
And maybe deep down I know why.

I like to fix broken things.
