Jack

I walked into my Spanish class early for the first time ever. Only two or so other people there - punctual nerds who have no life. Ugh, how did I let myself get to this? I barely ever even used to come to this stupid Spanish class.

I took my usual seat in the back of the class, shoving my bag down beside me and folding my arms over. There was only three minutes left till the bell and more students had began pouring in.

None of the other guys on the team were in this class - mostly the reason why I never bothered showing up. It was filled with annoying try hards.

My eyes were fixed on the crowd of people coming in, until a certain someone caught my eye. My heart skipped a beat, recognising the familiar person as the boy from yesterday. He walked in to the room and took a seat in the middle of the room far off to the left. I sprung up, grabbing my bag and walking over to him.

When I finally reached him I stood over him. He looked up, his eyes growing wide when he saw me. "Hey" I rudely greeted, sitting down in the seat next to him. "Oh, someone's actually- I, uhh..." he stuttered, tripping over his words. "Huh?" I questioned, squinting my eyes at him. Did this boy really have the nerve to try and tell me someone was already sitting here? When will this boy learn his place.

Just as the bell rung, one final student came running through the door.

"Hey, who the frik is sitting in my seat!" He exclaimed. I turned around to look at him, sending him a cold glare. "Holy shit" he breathed out, his face contorting with excitement. "You go ahead and sit there, I'll just chill back here" he stated, trying to keep his cool, although a hint of excitement still shone through.

I knitted my eyebrows together in confusion. Most people would have been scared by me, but this weirdo was excited. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him shoot the boy next to me a subtle thumbs up. He groaned in response, slapping a hand to his forehead.

"Who's he?" I whispered to the boy, turning back round to face him. He gulped, looking up at me. "Daniel. I'm sorry about him, he can be embarrassing at times" he replied, his cheeks turning a deep shade of red. I let out a little laugh before catching myself. I cleared my throat, returning to my usual cold demeanour.

"And... who are you?" I finally asked. "Zach" he responded, his eyes flickering down to the table. "You probably already know who I am" I mumbled carelessly. "And why's that?" He piped up, gaining some confidence. "Because everyone does" i replied, a small smirk forming on my lips. He smiled, rolling his eyes. "Jack Avery" he admitted, nodding his head. "The one and only" I confirmed.

A small silence fell between us. "You bumped in to me yesterday" I finally said, folding my arms. A look of worry crossed over his face, and he opened his mouth to speak. "I'm not mad" I cut in. He shut his mouth, not responding. "Are you coming to the party tonight?"

Zach looked over at me, nodding. "Josh's party? Yeah, I'm going with Daniel" he informed me. I frown fell upon my face at his words. "Why? Are you and Daniel together or something?" I spat out, a weird sense of almost jealousy taking over me.

Zach scrunched up his nose, not noticing my reaction. "Ew, no, that's gross. Me and Daniel have been friends our whole life, he's like an annoying little brother to me" Zach responded, shaking his head as if trying to erase a gross image. I chuckled, looking over my shoulder at Daniel. He stuck a middle finger up at Zach, meaning he must have heard.

"You weren't calling me annoying this morning when I drove your ass to school" he quietly yelled over at him, trying not to let the teacher notice. Zach rolled his eyes as he let a soft chuckle escape his lips. Without thinking I let my eyes drift to his soft pink lips. I licked mine subconsciously, until the sound of Zach clearing his throat brought me back to reality.

"What is it" I coldly shot back at him, taking him by surprise. He must've not expected me to switch up that fast. "N-nothing... I was just wondering, why did you wanna sit next to me today?" He asked nervously. I scoffed. "I didn't. I just sat here cuz I like this spot, jeez..." I lied. I didn't want this kid thinking he was special or something.

"Oh..." he replied quietly. He went to grab his pen from his desk but managed to knock it to the floor. He sighed, standing up. I watched him as he bent to the ground, causing his shirt to raise and expose his torso slightly. My eyes widened when I saw something in particular.

He sat back down, noticing my shocked expression. "What? What is it?" He asked consciously, looking around. I leaned in close to him, whispering in to his ear. "Are you wearing a thong?"

Zach pulled away, his whole face immediately going pale. "Oh my god. Tell me this is not happening right now" he groaned, slamming his head against the desk. "What, you didn't know you were wearing a thong?" I asked a little too loudly. He sprung up, bringing a finger to my lips to silence me. "Shh" he panicked, his face heating up. I let out a short laugh.

"Well if you're not going to talk to me I'll see you at the party then I guess" I pointed out. "I mean not that I care or anything. It means nothing to me" I blurted out, covering up what I had just said. "In fact I probably won't see you there cause I'll be like hooking up with girls or whatever" I stated, trying to convince him I wasn't hoping to see him.

"Right, so I'll not be seeing you at the party later then. Sounds like a plan" Zach joked, letting another sweet laugh fall from his lips. His perfect, soft lips. I shook my head, surprised by my thoughts. What the fuck was I doing?

Realisation finally kicked in. This whole time I hadn't realised I'd let my guard down, as if just by being near Zach I forgot how important my reputation was. How was I letting myself enjoy sitting here, next to some random nobody, thinking those sorts of things?

What if someone important had seen me talking to him and told everyone? The Jack Avery, associating with losers. This boy sure as hell wasn't worth risking any part of my reputation for, and he had to know that. He had to be put back in his place so he knew where he stood.

I sprung up out of my seat, unintentionally drawing attention to me. "It's not a plan, why would I ever have plans with you?" I sneered, picking my bag up and storming out the classroom. Everyone looked at Zach in confusion.

Before I left, I heard Zach mutter something under his breath.

"The plan was to not have plans, Avery. So much for thinking you weren't as bad as I thought you were."
