Jack
The rise and fall of my chest was the first thing I felt my morning. It was that, and then it was the faint smell of cologne - not one I quite recognised, but it was too early to realise. It was that, and then it was the sunlight shining warm against my closed eyelids.
As soon as my eyes fluttered open, everything felt good. I allowed them tk travel around my room from the clothes on the floor to the closed door...
They travelled all around until they finally landed on the sleepy boy lying next to me. That's when the memories of last night started flooding back.
Oh...SHIT!!!!!
Did I really kiss a boy last night?! Did I really.... do more than just kiss a boy? Oh no, oh god no... I can't just take it back. I really did it. It really happened.
I paused my panic, hearing a light muffled sound next to me. I turned my head, noticing Zach was slowly starting to wake up. His face looked so peaceful, so calm.
Oh well, I don't have time to stop and stare at the sleeping boy in my bed. I reached out a hand to him and lightly slapped him in the face to awake him.
"Ah, Daniel, what the fuck are you doing in my room?" He asked without even opening his eyes. He turned over and hid under the sheets. I creased my eyebrows together in confusion, peeking under the covers to see his face. "Umm Zach... open your eyes. I'm not Daniel you dumb fuck, and you're not in your room."
At my words Zach's eyes immediately shot open, locking with mine. He sprung up, a look of fear and embarrassment smothering every aspect of him.
"O-oh, I- Jack" Zach stuttered out nervously, looking around him. I followed his eyes to the pile of clothes on the floor, and suddenly my face dropped. I couldn't remember whether Zach was naked under those sheets and I wasn't about to find out.
"I'm gonna... step out for a second" I announced, clearing my throat as I stepped out of bed. My eyes widened when I noticed I was only in my underwear as I felt my legs carrying me to the bathroom attached to my room.
After locking the door behind me, I leant against the sink and sighed at my reflection in the mirror. What did you do, Jack? Idiot....
I fought a small smile from my lips. "A happy idiot, though" I thought to myself. I shook my head, grabbing my toothbrush and getting ready for the day.
Finally I decided to walk back into my room, yet as I opened the door I walked in on Zach pulling his shirt over his head. At least he was finally dressed. I sighed, walking over to my closet and pulling out a dark blue hoodie and some black sweatpants.
I knew I should've offered Zach some clothes but I couldn't risk anyone recognising anything. If people saw a guy was wearing my clothes they'd come to their own conclusions and maybe even figure it out.
"You need a ride to school?" I asked nonchalantly. Zach looked at me, stunned. "Well, I- I guess I-" he stumbled, too caught of guard to get any words out.
"Well too bad" I cut in. He tilted his head in confusion, causing me to snort. "I'm just joking" I informed him as a rolled my eyes. "Now hurry up unless you want to be late, I thought you nerds always showed up early."
Zach shrugged, looking away from me. I looked at him for a moment before sighing as I took a few steps towards him. "Zach, you know you can't tell anyone about this, right?"
Zach looked up at me with soft eyes. "I know" he hummed. "I didn't plan on telling anyone. It's not like they'd believe me anyways... you have nothing to worry about."
I shrugged, turning around. "This... never happened" I spoke thoughtfully. I shook away my thoughts. "So, you coming?" I asked without looking back at him.
For a second I got no response, until he finally broke the silence. "Actually, I think it's best if I just call an Uber..." he offered. I heard his footsteps, and soon he brushed past me to get to my bedroom door. He opened it to leave, but just before he did, he turned to look at me. "Bye Jack" he whispered before walking out and closing the door behind him.
For a moment I just stood there, my eyes still not moving from the spot where he was only seconds ago. Eventually I took my eyes away, returning my gaze to my room. I was left alone now, only me and my thoughts.
My mind flooded with thoughts from last night. Much to my surprise, a small smile slowly spread across my face at the memory. I shook my head, chuckling lightly. Guess the impending doom of regret hadn't sunk in yet and I had a little more time to enjoy the fact it ever happened.
I let out a content sigh as I sat down on my bed, but as I did I felt something underneath me. I frowned, sitting up and pulling the sheets back. I rolled my eyes once I saw what it was.
I picked up Zach's wallet, looking it over. It was pretty dumb of him to forget it but I guess he did rush out of the room pretty fast. I put it in my back pocket before grabbing my school bag and leaving my room.
