Promise

My tears fell. Hindi ko na napigilan ang pagtulo ng luha ko dahil sa sakit na nararamdaman. All my life, I longed for my mom. But now that she's with me, mas lalo lang akong nasasaktan.

Kaya niya ako iniwan noon because she doesn't love me. Ano ba ang ginawa ko? Ano bang kasalanan ko? What did I do so wrong to deserve this?

Bakit hindi niya ako magawang mahalin?

Crying, I changed my clothes into a shirt and jeans. Even if I'm not welcome, uuwi ako ng bahay.

Palabas ako ng kwarto nang pumasok rin si Marco. When he saw me crying, worry striked on his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Tanong niya at hinawakan ang kamay ko.

I cleared the lump on my throat before speaking.

"Val was kidnapped. I want to go home." I said in trembling voice.

His eyes darkened and his jaw clenched as pulled me closer.

"I'll just take a quick shower. Wait for me okay?" He said as he wiped my tears away.

I just nodded and waited for him at the living room. Sinusubukan kong tawagan si Mommy ngunit pinapatayan niya ako o kaya naman ay hindi sinasagot ang tawag ko.

Habang naghihintay ay wala akong ginawa kundi tumawag kay Mommy at umiyak. Can this just stop? Kailan ba to matatapos lahat dahil pagod na ako. Pagod na pagod na akong umiyak. Pagod na akong masaktan.

Kahit nasa sasakyan na kami ay hindi parin matigil ang pag-iyak ko. Marco is driving kahit na may bangdage pa sa kanang kamay niya.

Sobrang bilis ng tibok ng puso ko nang papasok kami ng gate sa bahay. And when his car stopped, para ring huminto ang tibok nito.

Nilingon ako ni Marco. He held my hand and squeezed it tight.

"No matter what happens inside, think of me before you decide on anything, please?" He said, his eyes were bloodshot.

I can't loose him again. He's the only person who loves me despite of my flaws in this world. Hindi ko kayang mawala ulit siya. This time, I'll be selfish. I will choose him over anything else.

I nodded. He hugged me tight and kissed me on my forehead.

"I'll wait for you here." He whispered. "Promise me you'll come back to me, please." Puno ng pag-aalala at sakit ang boses niya.

"I promise."

Halos hindi na ako makahinga habang palapit sa double doors. Nang nasa harap na ako, I closed my eyes and breathed deeply before opening it.

Walang tao sa living room. Only the maids who were busy cleaning the house na sumusulyap paminsan minsan sa akin.

"Where's Mommy and Daddy?" I asked one of them.

"Umalis po si Ser kani-kanina lang. Si Ma'am naman po ay nasa kwarto n-niya."

"Call her for me please." I said at agad naman itong tumango at umalis.

I sat on the sofa while waiting for Mommy. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko sa kanya. I just want us to talk. Or maybe I want to tell her about my pain.

Napatingin agad ako kay Mommy na pababa ng staircase. I stood up and when she saw me, bumilis ang pagbaba niya at agad kong nakitaan ng galit ang mata niya.
