There at the rooming house Loretta became friends with a man who lived there as well. They would talk everyday. She thought of him like a real father figure. He was so nice, caring, and enjoyed her company. Some nights she would walk down to the bar even though she did't drink at that time. She just was there talking to her landlord, and then she'd walk home. Her man friend told her to stop walking the streets like that. She never understood why, until one night she was headed home. Her friend, her father figure pulled up in a car, and pointed a gun at her. He told her to get in the car. She did't know what to do. If she run he will shoot her, and if she refuse she thought he would shoot. She got in the car. Her heart was pounding from fear. He started driving , to this day she did not know the area he was driving in, she was to busy crying. Her thoughts was, he is going to kill her. He asked her one question, "what did I tell you about walking around her at night"? she looked at the gun, and not in his face. Loretta got the words out of her mouth through her cries," not to walk around the streets at night". He asked , " do you know where you are at?" Loretta said,"no". He said," you know I can make you do anything I want you to do, and kill you right here, no body will know." All Loretta thought about was how in the world did this happen. She thought he was her friend, but friends do not point guns at friends. She began to tell him how sorry she was, and she should have listened to him. Please take me to my son, and how she will not do it again. He said," look at me, and she looked him in the face. He stopped and turned the car around and took her home. She really wanted to give him a piece of her mind, but did't say a word, and went to her room. She stopped talking to him even when he spoke or said good morning, she could not look in his face ever again. You can not teach lesson like that to anyone by making them afraid. He had lost her friendship for ever, and he finally moved away.
Loretta was going home after work and just as she was about to go in, this guy asked if she lived there. He was the cutiest guy she had seen in a while, or paid attention to. He was tall, well built, and just handsome did not do him justice. He was very nice, and would be by her building every day just to talk. Shewould get butterflies in her stomach when she see him standing there, could this be what love felt like, she had no idea. She was sixteen and he was twenty two. This one day he finally said I will see you tomorrow, and he kissed her , oh my god she thought, it felt so good, so right. She went to her apartment smiling, and feeling light headed. She thought of how she had never been kissed that way, his touch was so gentle, and how she wanted him to kiss her again. She could hardly sleep that night thinking of him. When she got home the next day he was there, she invited him upstairs and that was all it took. She was totally mind blown, and in Love for the first time in her life. Finally someone loved her and she loved him.
Loretta wanted more of him and did not question him about his life, which was a down fall in the relationship. He had two children he has to go and babysit because their mom had to go to work. He took Loretta with him to watch his children. She was willing because they were together. Sitting there in the house talking and holding each other, this woman comes in fussing and cursing. She was call Loretta name. Her boyfriend told the woman to stop. She asked Loretta how old was she, and she told Loretta to get out and stay away from her husband. That was a hurtful moment, crying she ran out of the door.The pain of that moment was hard. The next day there he was, standing there still looking good. Loretta melted at that moment. He told her he was put out of the house too, and how sorry he was for not telling her, but now they were broken up. He spent so much time with Loretta, it was as if they could not let go of each other. To Loretta this was true Love even to this day. They went everywhere together.
One night they went to this bar for pig ear sandwhiches, and there was Loretta's husband, who had the nerve to ask her when was she coming home? Her boyfriend said, " don't answer that. They knew each other, they were once friends, grew up together. Loretta was in shock because she forgot this was her husbands hometown. Her husband kept following them, and asking her to come home. Finally her boyfriend told him to go on. Loretta's husband asked her boyfriend, why would he take his wife, because they are friends. He said, " no I stopped being your friend the minute I started going with your wife." Loretta's husband kept harrassing them until Loretta's boyfriend said, " Here hold my sandwich," and took Loretta's husband to the side, and hit him one time in the face, he was bleeding all over the place, but Loretta's husband told her that it was her fault, so look at what you did. She did not say a word and they left holding each other, and eating their sandwiches.
Poem " True Love"
Love is a feeling you can not explain it grabs on to you so quick, and the feelings will make flutter. What ever goes on it does not matter, because to you your life has just gotten better. The one thing about it, and this you should know, a smile stays put, and the joy will flow. Love will always remain no matter what you do. Love has no ending if it true, hang on to it for as long as you can. You never know whats in Gods plan.
