After the briefing, Knuckles showed me the way to the Chemical Plant. Where Eggman used as a Shuttle base to reach his orbital prison. As I made my way to the plant, I was fiddling with this wispon. According to Silver, this wispon allows me to use small cube-like clones to attack my enemies. He also mentioned that if I needed it to, the wispon can create a ring of invincibility around me.
"This thing should be handy once I get to the Chemical Plant," I thought as I neared my destination.
The Chemical Plant Spaceport is an industrial area with no natural environments. Gigantic and metallic structures in yellow and gray rise up from the sea. The majority of these structures include high-tech factory-based chemical plants and industrial cranes. Among the structures are various pipes, ducts, and containers for transferring and holding blue chemicals. Also winding between the structures are yellow and black-striped roads, yellow and blue tubes, and train tracks for freight trains that transport supplies.
"Somewhere in all of this is the Shuttle pads," I accessed as I pulled up a holo map from my watch, "Espio's team is going to attack the plant from the front giving me time to find a shuttle. It'll be a rough route, but I bet if I follow the pipes to the freight trains, I should be able to find the Shuttle pad in no time. Alright Artemis, time to put your money where your mouth is."
Putting my map away, I used my wrist wire to grapple to a nearby pole. Pulling myself forward I landed on some wave-like pipes. I quickly ran across them, grappling again to a nearby pole to pull myself up to the next platform.
"Espio here," I hear Espio call over the coms, "My team is engaging the enemy in the orbital tunnel! I think we can hold them off for now. No, wait!"
"Espio! What's wrong?" asked Vector.
"Watch out! The masked ones here!" answered Espio, "The monster that took down Sonic!"
"Zero!" I thought stopping in my tracks, "Espio, I'm coming to assist!"
"Negative rookie," denied Knuckles, "Espio's job is to keep the enemy busy, your's is to find the shuttle."
"Stay focused, rookie!" chimed in Vector, "Your off to find a shuttle!"
"Fine," I growled continuing my mission, "And stop calling me rookie!"
As I continue to run down the platform a small army of Eggman's robots blocks my path. I smirk as I grappled to a pole above them, swinging across the pole to pole over the robots.
"Guess these guys aren't arrowed dynamic," I said, smirking, as I swing up to a higher platform. I didn't have much time to rest, as ten robots surrounded me. I grabbed my Asteroid Wispon from my belt, as five purple cube-like clones appeared around me.
I fired the clones at the five robots behind me, destroying them instantly. The five in front then fired their blasters at me. I leaped into the air to dodge them, then fired my wire at the one in the back. I pulled myself towards it, using my foot to smash it into the ground, destroying it. The other four aim at me again but were destroyed before they could fire as the clones went right through them.
"Too easy," I smiled, then continued to make my way through the Chemical Plant. Continuing to swing and jump to each platform, until I reach the freight train tracks.
"Rookie, what's your status?" Knuckles asked over the coms.
"It's Artemis! Why is this so hard?" I growled, "I'm close, just about to hitch a ride on the freight train."
"Artemis, that's too risky!" called out Silver.
"Relax Silver," calmed Amy, "It should just be carrying supplies. I don't think it's armed or anything."
"You guys can sit there and debate this," I said, seeing a freight train approach, "But I have a train to catch."
I quickly grappled onto a pipe to launch myself on top of the train. However, I slightly overshot it, clinging to the edge of the train for dear life. Getting my bearings, I was able to pull myself up to the top of the train. Just as I was about to take a breather, the train was heading into a tunnel with a low roof. Panicked I fired my wire into the air hoping it would grab onto something. Luckily it grappled to another pipe, pulling me into the air. When I reached the top, another freight train was charging towards me at high speeds. In a split second, I managed to grapple my wire onto a pipe head of me. Narrowly escaping the train, I landed on a long rail, to which I grinded across it heading towards the Shuttle pad.
"Artemis! Are you doing alright?" said Amy.
"Never better, I'm approaching the Shuttle pad now," I said doing my best not to fall off the rail.
"The launchpad should be quiet since Espio is keeping Eggman's forces busy," explained Amy, "Grab a shuttle before that changes!"
"Roger that!" I agreed, then I noticed that the rail leads to the launch pad itself, "Perfect!"
I approached a shuttle that was being unattended and made my way into the control center. Upon inspection, Eggman has his shuttles connected to a network so that it won't take off unless he says so.
"Nothing a little hacking can't take care of," I smiled as I connected a cord from my glove to the control board. Within minutes, the shuttle's engine started up, powering it up.
"That's one shuttle for the Resistance," I said proud of my work.
"Hurry it up, rookie!" called out Knuckles, "Get outta there and pick us up."
"Chill out Commander, I'm on my way!" I growled as I flew the shuttle the main entrance of the Chemical Plant. As I landed and opened the door for the others to jump in I said, "Someone call for a lift?"
Knuckles was the first one to join me in the cockpit, "Nice job, rookie. As soon as everyone's aboard take off!"
"On it," I said as the last of us boarded, "We need to talk about this 'rookie' thing soon."
After closing the entrance, I immediately flew us to the coordinates to where this Sonic was being held.
