I wish I were a human again. I mean permanently... no supernatural powers or enchanted witches. I didn't have to worry about transforming back into a pure breed husky that's huge by day. Waiting for night to arrive...
I didn't even mean to bark at her with my snarky cocky attitude I give everyone. I don't get why she's so arrogant. I groan mentally in my mind hoping Noen didn't hear my thoughts.
"Your thoughts are loud dude. She's not arrogant so calm down. Literally give her a chance," Noen explains opening the door so his head peaks inside. I roll my eyes turning away from him. I decide to go towards the window watching the trees move slowly with the breeze. It reminded me that summer is around the corner.
"Ella isn't so bad. She literally bought us a massive amount of clothes, she lets us stay, we can eat human food until we transform.. Why won't you give her a chance...?" He pauses then barks in excitement, "She's in love with books. Pick out a book, have her read the story, or just have a normal conversation with her!"
I growl at him instantly turning around, "After what I did to the last girl who fell for me? That's a no... Noen, how do I even know Ella is the one?"
He sighs running his left hand through his hair. He's fully in the room now but with shopping bags. I'm assuming they're full of clothes.
"We have three and a half months, Caleb. She's been eyeing us for weeks with care and love back at the shelter ... Obviously, she has a soft spot for us. Even with our situation," After processing his words hearing them replay through my mind. All the muscles I feel in my facial features relax and I hear the door close softly. I don't know why he left the room. Considering he and I were sharing this bedroom. It had two beds, two nightstands. Two lamps, and a decent sized closet.
I sigh as I run my hand through my hair. I close the curtains then walk towards the lamp. I turn it on then go through the shopping bags he set onto my bed. I find some briefs and a shirt to sleep in. I take off the sweatpants and shirt leaving me completely naked. I remember how I would have to sleep naked in those large cages. It makes me instantly feel insecure of my body.
I put on the briefs first then the t-shirt I got. I put on a pair of black shorts. Once I feel like I look okay. I take a deep breath turning off the light and heading for the door. I open the door heading into the living room seeing Noen grabbing all the shopping bags. I chuckle at him as I go to Ella's door. I hear the television on but I knock loud enough for her to hear.
The sound of the television stops. I'm assuming she paused it as I hear a bit of shuffling and her footsteps. The door opens revealing her without makeup. She looks so much more beautiful without it ...
Caleb stop... what're you thinking?!
"Can I help you?" Ella asked her arms crossing against her chest. I rub the back of my neck awkwardly.
"How was work today?" I asked politely since I'm taking Noen's advice.
"It was good. I got a 2.50 tip, sold more books then my co-worker and had a bunch of books to put in different sections so it's always lovely. How was your day?" I was not expecting that at all.
"It was boring. I slept for most of it," She chuckles then looks at something in her room.
"Wanna cuddle for a bit? I'm waiting for pizza order to show and I'm watching a cheesy Rom-Com," I smile and nod. Expressing to her that I wanted to.
"Alright," She replied turning around walking towards her bed. She crawls onto her bed and I realize how huge it is. I enter her bedroom closing the door behind me. I awkwardly look around studying her bedroom.
"C'mon," She says. I go towards her right side of the bed crawling onto it and sit down afterwards.
"How do you want to...?" I asked her awkwardly. I'm normally awkward I don't know how to stop it. The fact she asked to cuddle when we were angry with each other an hour or two ago was shocking alone.
"I'll lie on my back. You lay your head on my chest and I'll play with your hair," she explains. I nod as she lies on her back, I lie my head on her chest as I wrap my right arm around her. She pushes the play button as we proceed to watch a movie.
After a while I feel her play with my curly hair. I immediately want to fall asleep but I try my best to stay awake.

I hear somebody pull up into the driveway. So, I get up going to peak out the window. I see the pizza delivery dude. I rush quietly towards Ella's bedroom and softly knock at the door.
"Come in," I hear Ella say. I open the door to see Caleb asleep on her lap. I sigh in relief knowing they made up. At least he put some effort in.
"The pizza is here," I tell her quietly. Caleb moves his head a bit then stays there. She moves out of Caleb's grasp but it wakes him up anyways.
"Sleepy head. Our pizza is here," Ella says then gets up heading towards the front door as fast as she can.
"Damnit, I was comfortable," His voice was raspy. I chuckle as he rubs his eyes softly.
"I didn't think you actually had a normal conversation with her-"
"I had a vision thing ..." Caleb cut me off instantly. I raise an eyebrow wondering what it could be.
"Ella has a boyfriend..." I knew damn well ... There's going to be more conflict.
"Pizza!" I hear Ella exclaim. Caleb and I hold eye contact for a minute. Then we get up to go get food to eat.
