It's officially midnight and I haven't been able to fall asleep. It felt foreign not being able to lay beside her or hold her. I was comfortable with Ella so it felt different having someone else sleeping in her bed beside her. I toss and turn, toss and turn. Still can't sleep. So, I just stare at the ceiling letting time consume me.
I sit up putting my shirt on before heading into the kitchen debating on whether to sneak another snack or watch some television for a bit. I decide on actually doing what I was debating on.
After an hour into the movie I hear footsteps and I see Ella walking out here so I pause the movie with the remote. We both just stare each other down.
"What're you doing awake?" Ella asked. She looks like she hasn't slept at all. Which shocked me considering her boyfriend was here.
"I couldn't sleep. Why are you awake?" I asked her. She shrugged then sat beside me on the couch.
"I couldn't really... fall asleep either..." She was fidgeting with her fingers as she said this. I really wanted to kiss her ... I've been wanting to for the past 48 hours but I always ignored it. I had to control myself before actually kissing her.
"Want to finish the film with me?" I asked. She nodded in response. I smiled as I picked up the remote hitting the play button and it continues playing.
Throughout the movie we kept giving each other looks or making weird faces and chuckling. As if she was developing feelings for me. My emotions were mixed and confused. Butterflies would erupt in my stomach leaving me feeling a bit tingly. The veins in my arms were pumping a lot of blood feeling the adrenaline.
But at the same time. She made me feel relaxed and at ease. With no worry or concern whatsoever. We continued to watch the movie and another one.
Afterward, I stood up telling her I wanted to attempt to get some sleep. She chuckled and agreed with me.
"I um... I hope you sleep well," I say awkwardly wanting to kiss her. My eyes remaining more focus on her lips than her eyes. When I looked back up at her eyes, they were focused on my lips. Both of us standing in the living room.
"I hope you have a good night," she said.
"I hope you wake up feeling amazing in the morning-" I felt her lips pressed against mine. She slowly pulled apart as we hold eye contact. All of a sudden I pulled her closer placing my lips against hers. She kisses back passionately.
Our lips move in a sync as we both lean into the area where the couch was. Our lips no longer touching. I sit on the couch as she gets on top of me pressing her lips aggressively against mine. I kiss harder my hands on her waist. Her hands tangled in my curly hair.
I moan softly into the kiss as we get more rough and touchy. At some point we both pull away to finally breathe. Our breathing heavy from the heated make-out session. Her hands caress my cheeks feeling the butterflies erupt in my stomach. When I look up at her, her eyes were sparkling. I slowly lean in. I feel her lips against mine softly. I kissed back then we slowly pulled apart.
We heard a toilet flush completely ruining the moment. Ella getting off of my lap right away. Noen walks out here but stops in confusion. I knew he just caught us so I mentally groan telling him to go away.
"It's four thirty in the morning ... How long have you two been awake for?" He asked. I forgot Noen always woke up at four to make himself breakfast, use the restroom and watch television until the sun rises.
"Midnight..." Ella replies softly. Noen shrugged continuing to walk towards the kitchen. I knew he was definitely going to question me about it later.
"What time do you both usually wake up?" Ella asked turning to me. I sigh running my hand through my hair.
"Four ... Five in the morning? We usually make up our sleep during the day," I explained to her. She nodded taking in what I had told her.
"Goodnight," I say to her standing up and placing a soft kiss against her cheek. I rub the back of my neck as I walk away.
"Goodnight..." I heard her mumble back.
