"See, it's nice, isn't it?" Keenan said to her.

Rose mumbled a quiet 'Yes' but felt uncomfortable. Her dress was itchy, her hair was too tight and the earrings she was wearing were digging into her skin. She didn't want to be here.

"I don't know why you are so reluctant these days," he murmured, slicing the steak.

Rose stayed silent and poked at her salad unfocused. All she could think about was her son.

She was wondering what he was doing right now with the nanny. Was he crying? If he was giggling without her around she'd feel regretful.

"Rose, are you evening listening?" Keenan interrupted her thoughts.

Rose looked up at him surprised and saw his annoyed expression. He did not look happy.

"Huh?"

Keenan looked at her with a frown before sighing. He used the cloth to wipe his mouth before he suddenly threw it onto the table. He then got up from his seat, quite roughly, making the chair squeak across the tiled floor.

Rose watched in confusion as he began to walk off, only later realising that he wasn't just going off to the toilet, he was leaving the restaurant.

She quickly got up and followed after him, keeping her eyes away from the stares around them.

"Are you alright ma'am?" one of the waiters said, stepping in front of her.

Rose frantically eyed Keenan who had already passed the waiter.

"I'm fine," she said distracted. "Thank you for the food."

Rose quickly brushed the waiter off by walking out the door and running outside where she saw Keenan get into his car.

"Wait," she yelled after him.

She knew he heard her because he glanced in her direction before he slammed the door and turned on the lights.

As she began to go towards the car, she heard his engine turn on before the engine revved and the car quickly moved off.

Rose slowed down in her tracks and paused in the middle of the road. She looked on at the car getting smaller in the distance.

She couldn't believe he actually left her. How was she going to get back?  She didn't even have her phone or her wallet on her.

She sighed aloud before running a frustrated hand through her hair. Now what?

She stood there unknowing of what to do before ultimately shaking her head and heading back inside. She planned to ask the restaurant staff to call a taxi for her but before she walked through the door, she heard someone call her from behind.

Looking over, she widened her eyes. Ryan was coming towards her, along with a group of what seemed like his fellow colleagues behind him.

"Ryan?" she said surprised.

"Rose," he said with a smile, "fancy meeting you here."

Ryan walked up to her and gave her a small peck on the cheek before standing back.

"You too," she replied in a daze.

"Are you here for dinner?"

"Yes," she murmured tiredly.

"Who are you waiting for? Sinclair?" he asked looking around.

Rose frowned.

"Actually, he just left," she muttered.
