Rose quietly checked the clock in the kitchen.

It was already 2:30pm.

That meant it was time to to pick up Finnigan from the kindergarten.

She let out a long breath before getting up from the table and grabbing her keys.

She then swiftly left her house and began her daily afternoon trip to pick up her son and drop him back home.

Frankly enough, if her work ended later then she wouldn't have to pick him up but because it did, she unfortunately had no excuse.

Besides, she also promised him she would. She also wasn't the type to break promises no matter how trivial it was.

As she came upon the gate, she noticed all the school children already leaving the grounds.

It was noisy, but it was the tender sort of noisy; one full of children laughing.

When she came to the entrance, at first she didn't see Finnigan anywhere so she walked further into the school grounds.

Looking around, she could see all the parents waiting with their friends while their children came out of the classrooms.

Every once in a while, she would spot a father looking out of place. Though nonetheless, the father was still there picking up their child. Seeing them created a sort of bitter taste in her mouth.

A few minutes passed and when she couldn't find Finnigan, she glanced around before deciding to ask one of the mothers if they knew where he was.

"Excuse me," she asked while gently talking the shoulder of the woman,"do you know if the kindergarten kids at being held back?"

Unfortunately for her, she picked the wrong mother.

"What?" the brunette woman said while turning around. When their eyes let, she instinctively regretted her decision. "Oh... Why if it isn't Mrs Sinclair?" the woman smiled with a perfect fake-ness to it.

Rose smiled back politely but that didn't mean she had forgotten the woman's mini-drama at Parent Day last time.

She still had that same arrogant smirk on her face along with her judging eyes.

"I haven't seen you since Parent Day," the brunette stated.

'And thank god for that,' Rose thought to herself. Though outwardly, Rose nodded with a smile that was all friendly. Little would the brunette know that it was all but friendly. "I guess so," Rose replied.

"Busy lately, aren't you?" the woman chuckled. "But I'm guessing not as busy as your husband though."

Rose felt her brain tick. She was about to correct her on the 'husband' bit when she heard Finnigan from behind.

"Mommy!"

Rose turned around to see him and watched as he happily hugged her knees.

"I missed you," he murmured into her legs.

Rose gave an awkward smile but still managed to pay his head gently.

"He's beginning to look more and more like his dad," the brunette commented, staring at Finn intently. "I mean, I hardly see a resemblance between you two at alll," she laughed.

Rose glanced up at her with an unimpressed face.

'Now what was she blabbering on about? Was she purposely saying this so she would get offended?'
